This is an experience, not just a stay. The twin room faces North towards the Aurora Borealis. Belmont House is a Category ‘A’ Listed Building built in 1775 overlooking the Bluemull Sound on Unst with views southwards towards Linga Island and Yell. Described as ‘One of the best preserved classical Georgian Houses in Scotland’ and ‘The most northerly Country House in Britain’ making this a stay to remember. Relax in the stunning gardens or simply unwind with a book in the Drawing Room. The space A Twin bedroom on the first floor of the UK's most northerly Stately Home built in 1775. Dedicated bathroom and access to the Drawing Room, Writing Room, Dining Room and Gardens is offered. This is an experience rather than just a simple stay. Included in the room fee is a night out to view the Lund Standing Stone with its eerie and spiritual magnetism. Breakfast is included. Guest access Full access to all parts of the House except other bedrooms and the owner's lounge. Venetian Writing Room, south facing with private desk space. Blue Drawing Room with unique full three-quarter views to south, west and north. Private bathrooms. All garden spaces are set in 2 Acres of trees and shrubs. Formal and Informal gardens. Kitchen. Available for the duration of your stay for cooking your own meals or tea and coffee. Theatre Dining Room. Free to use at any time and south-facing towards the beach. During your stay I will be available in a private lounge on the ground floor or via phone at any time of day or night. I am happy to be guided by you. Other things to note If visiting in the winter months, please do note that I will be keeping the social areas warm with a wood / peat fire. Please help yourself to refill the stove burner. Belmont House and the Shetland Islands can be cold so please dress accordingly and be prepared for cold rooms although electric fires and electric blankets can be supplied on request. Shetland Islands in general are extremely expensive for electricity at around three times the price of the mainland UK so please be mindful of leaving unnecessary lights on and the use of electrical and electronic items. We want you to enjoy your stay but please be considerate with the energy use.
