Description

Accommodation with a cinema in the living room, swimming pool, barbecue, garage and tennis court. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Very bright and an ideal location. The space There are getaways to the Pyrenees where you don't stop: a hike in the morning, a swim in a pool at noon, dinner in the village in the evening. And there are others where what you need is a base: a large, bright place with everything needed for seven people to be comfortable without getting in each other's way. The Espert apartment is one of the best, and in summer it's difficult to find anything better equipped in Biescas. Biescas has a location that no other town in the Aragonese Pyrenees has: it is at the crossroads between the Tena Valley and the Aragón Valley, twenty minutes from Formigal, half an hour from the Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park, and with the road to France just a stone's throw away for those who want to cross into Béarn in a day. In summer, that means you can see the Sorrosal Waterfalls in the morning, have a barbecue lunch on the terrace, and leave the car parked in the garage without moving it. The apartment is on the fourth floor, without an elevator, which is important to know before booking if you are traveling with a lot of luggage or with people with reduced mobility. That said, once inside, the height becomes an advantage: the large windows let in light in a way that few ground-floor apartments do, and the feeling of spaciousness provided by those ceilings and that brightness is what guests who stay here comment on the most. What makes this apartment different in summer The communal pool is a real differentiator in the area. Airbnb includes it in its own data: it's one of the few places to stay in the Alto Gállego that has it. In July and August, after a morning out or an afternoon in Ordesa, coming home and jumping into the pool is priceless. The tennis court completes the picture for those who want activity without taking the car. The private barbecue is another feature that, in the summer season, makes the difference between dining out every night and being able to organize an evening at home with what you brought from the Biescas market. With seven people, that saves time, money, and arguments about where to go. The home theater is plan B for the days when the weather in the Pyrenees is not good, which can happen even in summer. Projector or large screen in the living room, sofa, and the afternoon taken care of without leaving the apartment. Biescas as a basecamp In summer, the schedule from Biescas can be as intense or as relaxed as you like. Half an hour by car, you have access to the Ordesa Valley, one of the most impressive landscapes in the Pyrenees: the Ordesa Canyon, the Cola de Caballo, and the Gradas de Soaso. Tours from one hour to a full day, for all skill levels. The Tena Valley, twenty minutes away, is a land of mountain lakes, waterfalls and high-altitude hiking. Las Pasarelas de Panticosa, the Balneario de Baños de Panticosa with its blue-water lakes, the Panticosa gondola lift that goes up to Puntal de Petrosos, and the Sarrio Train to the Valle de la Ripera. The offer is so big that it doesn't run out in a week. Sallent de Gállego, with its medieval historic center and the Salto de Sallent just a short walk away, is worth a quiet afternoon. The Lacuniacha Wildlife Park in Piedrafita de Jaca is a must if you are traveling with children. And the Panticosa Spa, if anyone needs a day of total relaxation instead of a hike, offers treatments with views of the peaks. In winter, Biescas is the perfect base for the two big ones: Formigal and Panticosa. More than 150 km of slopes between the two resorts, and the apartment has a garage, so you don't have to look for parking in the snow. Guest access Inside the apartment The apartment has two distinct bedrooms: one with a double bed, designed for couples or for those who want more peace and quiet, and another with four single beds, which works very well for children, teenagers or groups of friends sharing a room. The living room has a sofa bed, so there is plenty of room for up to seven people in total. The two complete bathrooms are a detail that is greatly appreciated when traveling in a group, especially in the mornings before heading out. One of them has been recently renovated: new tiles, a renovated shower, that little leap in quality that you notice as soon as you enter. The kitchen has also received a recent upgrade: better finish, more comfortable for real cooking. It has an oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine, so for stays of several days it is completely independent. Breakfasts before heading out to the mountains, picnics prepared at home, dinners after a long day: everything works without depending on restaurant hours. The WiFi is 500 Mbps, which covers video calls, streaming, and remote work without problems for several people at the same time. There is an area set up for working, useful for those who want to combine a getaway with some teleworking. The home theater is the distinguishing feature of the living room. With seven people, ending the day with a movie is a plan that's used more than it seems, both in winter and in summer when it cools down in the afternoon. Outside The barbecue is for the exclusive private use of the apartment, not shared with other neighbors. It is ready to be used as soon as the good weather arrives, which in Biescas is usually from the end of May. The pool and tennis court are communal, subject to seasonal opening and community rules, but in the summer months they are available and are among the few that exist in accommodations in the area. Parking and access Garage included in the price, on the premises. In the Pyrenees, with traffic in high season and cars loaded with bicycles, kayaks or mountain gear, having a guaranteed parking space is a real plus. Access from the road is direct and convenient. The apartment is on the fourth floor without an elevator. It's a good idea to keep this in mind when packing: it's best to leave anything you don't need in the garage. Not recommended for people with limited mobility. Other things to note Why this apartment in summer The combination of a pool, barbecue and garage in a single accommodation in the Alto Gállego area is unusual. Most apartments in Biescas and the surrounding area have one or two of these things; rarely all three together. For groups or families spending several days, that translates into a base where you don't have to improvise: you arrive, park, and have a plan whether it's sunny or the weather changes. The newly renovated bathroom and the updated kitchen are recent improvements that are not yet fully reflected in the listing photos, but are noticeable from the first moment of your stay. Who it's good for It works great for families with children looking to combine activity with relaxation: Ordesa in the morning, pool in the afternoon, movies in the evening. Also for groups of friends of four to seven people who want a spacious base, two bathrooms, a garage and a hassle-free barbecue. And for couples who come with another family and need the adults to have their own room and the kids to have theirs. Biescas, more than it seems Biescas is a town with a life of its own beyond passing tourism: a local market, restaurants with authentic Aragonese cuisine, summer festivals, and a quiet historic center that's worth a stroll. It's not just a stop on the way to Ordesa or Formigal; it's a place to stay and enjoy. Less than half an hour away by car, you have access to Ordesa, the Garganta de Escuaín, the Cañón de Añisclo and the Circo de Pineta, the four main attractions of the National Park. And in the opposite direction, the entire Tena Valley with Sallent, Panticosa, Tramacastilla and the high mountain lakes. Practical information Check-in after 5 pm, with self check-in via keypad lock: there is no need to coordinate with anyone to pick up keys. Check out by 11:00 AM. Maximum 7 guests. Swimming pool and tennis in season, depending on when the community opens. Private barbecue: leave it clean when you finish. Garage included. Fourth floor with no elevator. The flat is pet friendly according to reviews from previous guests; please confirm before booking if you are traveling with animals.
