We are Rudi and Happy, owners of Villa Norway in Yogyakarta. The villa is a blend of Norwegian modern style and Indonesian tropical atmosphere, which is located in rural and relaxing rice fields and tropical forest with great and private views with a private large swimming pool. Located only 45 min drive into the city. 20 minutes to Wates train station 40mins to Yogyakarta International Airport 45 minutes to Yogyakarta city center 50 minutes to Borobudur temple 60 minutes to Merapi The space Villa Norwegia is a modern villa of 160 m², finished in 2023, and offers a perfect combination of comfort and luxury. The house is located at the top of the plot and has a large parking space. The villa has 3 air-conditioned bedrooms, own wardrobes, and en-suite bathrooms with hot shower. Good WiFi coverage is available inside and outside. Bedroom 1: This is the largest room, with a small office/vanity, bathtub, and direct exit to the garden with a fantastic view of the rice fields. Bedroom 2: Also this room has a direct exit to the garden with a fantastic view of the rice fields. Bedroom 3: A family room with room for a large family, consisting of a double bed and a large double bunk bed. We provide baby chair, baby cot and toys if needed at no extra charge. The bedrooms are well separated with doors between the hallway, the kitchen and the living room, which provides good noise insulation and comfort for all the guests. The villa has a modern and fully equipped kitchen with all the necessary amenities, including a microwave and dishwasher, as well as a large dining area for several guests. The living room is a combination of modern and traditional style with local art, offering a comfortable sofa, large Android TV with satellite, and sound system. Cleaning: During your stay, our housekeeper will be present to make sure the villa is kept clean and welcoming, allowing you to relax and enjoy your time here without any worries. Additional services To make your stay even more pleasant, we offer a variety of additional services at an additional cost. This includes car and scooter rentals, massage services, and much more. Please contact us to arrange these services in advance or during your stay. Outdoor amenities From the living room you have a great view to the outdoor area and rice fields, and you can walk directly down the stairs to the garden. The garden is 1500 m² and contains an infinity pool of 15 x 4 m with a depth of 1.4 m. From the pool you can really relax with a 180-degree view of the rice fields, the forest, and the mountains in the background – a calm and quiet area that is rare in a city like this. Next to the pool there are 6 sun loungers and 1 large day bed for relaxing. There is also a terrace with 2 tables and 8 chairs, perfect for enjoying meals, barbecuing, or just have a cup of coffee and admire the view. In addition, there is an outdoor lounge with sofa and chairs for at least 8 people, under roof with a ceiling fan. Here you can enjoy the evenings together. The lounge also has a fridge, sink and its own guest toilet. Private Events: We allow private events at the villa, but it is important to contact us in advance to arrange further details and conditions. Guest access Our staff are on site to assist you as needed and for daily cleaning and services. Guests have access to the whole lot except one smaller building that employees live in. There is a separate laundry room in the main building which is for the staff use only. There will be no other guests throughout your stay. Other things to note This is a quiet retreat in a rural setting, but private and an experience of being in a hotel. A perfect choice if you want to get away from city noise to finding peace. It is poor with public transport all the way to the villa, which is why guests are advised to use transportation services such as Grab or Gojek, come with their own car or rent a car with a driver (we can arrange it). There are many local and some modern restaurants in Wates and Nanggulan 15-20 min from the villa. Or just enjoy the villa and order food delivery from one of the Indonesian food delivery apps. Kiosks can be found nearby, but want to buy food stores such as meat, vegetables and dairy products, it is best done at the Supermarkets in Yogyakarta city center (45 min from the villa). Please be quiet in the outdoor area after 11 pm, because it is located in a traditional village in Yogyakarta. The safety of children in the swimming pool and all areas, separate staircase area outside, is your own responsibility. No smoking is allowed inside. Smoking should be done outside, and needs to be properly disposed of. Number limit for guests and visitors! Please note that the number of guests in the reservation cannot be exceeded, unless otherwise agreed. This applies regardless if someone is only planning to be present during the day. All visitors, both overnight and day guests, must be included in the total number stated in the reservation. If more people than originally reserved are to stay at the property, this can be agreed upon for an additional fee. Please reach out well in advance of check-in to confirm the change. We can also facilitate day events if desired, but such use has to be agreed in beforehand.
