Indulge yourselves with a stay at this enticing retreat in Alburgh, Norfolk, close to the border with Suffolk. Idyllic for two guests, and also welcoming one dog, the one-bedroom abode is set in the owners’ beautiful grounds, but does enjoy its privacy. The space Wander the verdant grounds to your heart’s content, enjoy the use of the shared pool and sauna from the beginning of April to the end of October, and head out to explore the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads, which begin approximately 6 miles from this beautiful bolthole. Step into the lodge and find yourselves in a stylish, open-plan kitchen/diner, where you will find everything you need to cook delicious dinners with your own ingredients on romantic nights in. Lay the table in here or sit out in the evening sunshine in your private, courtyard garden. Make the most of the dishwasher so neither of you has to wash up. Head on through to the inviting bedroom/lounge afterwards to settle on the sofa or in your comfortable king-size bed to watch a film on the Smart TV. Treat yourself to a long, hot bubble bath before turning in for the night. Have breakfast out in the sunshine of your courtyard garden or go for a morning walk around the grounds and say hello to the alpacas when they lean over the fence. Arrange to have a swim or sauna in the high season. Find you have parking for one car with the retreat. Drive 6 miles into Bungay to see the castle, shop in delightful independent stores or hire a boat on the River Waveney. Venture 21.5 miles for a day out in fashionable Southwold, with its nostalgic pier, gastropubs and fresh seafood shacks. Pick up a section of the Suffolk Coast Path here if you wish.
