Originally built in 1839, "Inglewood" is on the National Register of Historic Places. Thanks to recent renovations, it's a perfect mix of historic charm and modern amenities - ideal for a couples getaway! The property is a working farm, home to other renters and your hosts. During your stay, you'll enjoy the entire Gray House, a private in-law unit attached to the main house. Close to downtown Harrisonburg/JMU, you'll be near everything fun, while still secluded amongst 500 acres of farmland. The space Welcome to Inglewood - the perfect peaceful couples getaway! You'll be staying in the Gray House, named after the original Inglewood builder. The Gray House is an attached, private in-law house built in the early 1900s and located on the right side of the main Lee House. Outside you're greeted with your own private parking, entrance, porch and yard. Seated on 5 acres and surrounded by 500+ acres of farmland, you'll be surrounded by mature trees and incredible views of the Shenandoah Valley. Inglewood is only 5 minutes to downtown Harrisonburg, and 10 minutes to JMU. Inside your private entrance, you'll enter the first floor with a family room, half bath, and kitchenette. The welcoming family room has floor-to-ceiling bookshelves filled with books, games, and VHS tapes of the best classic movies. Turn on the Smart TV (guest WiFi available) or record player and sink into relaxation. *PLEASE NOTE: This rental does not have a full kitchen, but there is a kitchenette which features complimentary coffee, tea, water, and light snacks. Appliances include: Nespresso, water dispenser, tea kettle, microwave, mini fridge/freezer, Ninja Foodi Combi, and a toaster oven. We also have a grill in case you want to grill or roast marshmallows! Got dirty dishes? No problem, there is a designated dirty dish bin that your hosts will check a few times a day - we'll clean your dishes for you! Through the living room you'll head up the hand-crafted winding wooden staircase to your private master bedroom. The hallway closet has everything you might need to relax, including cozy bath robes! The master bedroom includes a king bed, dresser, vanity, and picturesque views of Massanutten Mountain. There is also a newly-remodeled full bathroom, fitted with all your toiletry necessities. Guest access You will have access to the entire in-law unit, located on the right side of Inglewood. A few items to note: 1. The Gray House is a unit attached to the main house, but you will have the entire unit to yourselves. There are clearly marked "Do Not Enter" signs on doors separating you from the main house, which is a separate unit. 2. There are multiple rental options on the Inglewood property. To ensure each guest has a peaceful stay, each rental has their own private outside space/yard. Outside the Gray House you have your own private front porch with multiple seating options, and private side yard. Please be respectful of other's space and privacy! 3. We are surrounded by 500+ acres of farmland and animals, which are off-limits to guests (just say hi from afar!). Inglewood is located on a "loop" driveway, which you're welcome to stretch your legs and walk. Your hosts are located on-site, so if you see them feel free to say hi! There are also clearly marked signs and a detailed property map showing you what outdoor spaces you can access. Other things to note FARM LIFE: When you stay at Inglewood, you are staying on a working farm! Though The Gray House is a animal-free stay, you most likely will see animals outside during your stay, whether cows grazing in the fields, or our barn cats wanting to say hello! Your hosts work hard to keep away unwanted pests, but animals are part of a balanced ecosystem and farm life. Our space may not be a fit for those who are extremely phobic of wildlife.
