Set in the village of Flixton, Park Farm and its cottage are situated around a traditional fold yard with farm buildings and fields beyond, where the owner keeps horses. Located on a ‘no through’ road, this semi-detached cottage has been renovated to a very good standard and makes it the perfect place for a peaceful family holiday. You are surrounded by countryside and wonderful walks, such as the Wolds Way which travels past the village across Yorkshire’s best kept secret, the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds. There are miles of rolling countryside and an abundance of wildlife, which were the inspiration for the artist David Hockney’s paintings. The village has a very popular local pub a 2-minute walk from the cottage that serves food daily. The seaside resort of Filey is just 5 miles away with a large, sweeping, sandy beach that stretches for over 3 miles; it is a very traditional seaside resort and much quieter than its neighbours of Scarborough and Bridlington. You are also perfectly placed to visit the North York Moors, the Wolds and the East Coast, all of which can be reached within a short drive. Yorkshire is famous for its market towns and you don’t have to drive far to find them. Malton is the nearest, but you have Pickering, Beverley and Driffield all within a short drive. They all have very busy market days as well as excellent shopping, cafés and restaurants. The RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs is well worth a visit. This birdwatchers’ paradise has thousands of migrating birds and puffins perched on the chalk cliffs. The historic city of York is less than an hour away with its magnificent minster, riverside bars and cafés, cobbled streets and entertainers. No wonder it’s voted every year as one of the top 10 UK cities to visit. For children there is Flamingo Land theme park, Sea Life aquarium, and Alpamare UK indoor water park all just a short drive away. Beach 4 miles. Shop and restaurant 1 mile, pub 300 yards.
