Just four miles away is Harlech with its famous cliff-top 13th-century castle, Royal Saint David’s Golf Course and miles of beautiful dune-fringed beaches. Around six miles away is Porthmadog, which has a marina, a range of shops from supermarkets to small independent shops, restaurants and waterside views. Take a trip on one of the three heritage railways that service Porthmadog, taking in the scenic mountain views along the line to Caernarfon or marvel at the scale of the slate industry that has left its mark on Blaenau Ffestiniog.
