Gather at the Lake

Our family lake house awaits your next getaway at Lake Cavanaugh! A little over an hour north of Seattle, come enjoy its fresh air, crystal lake water, and pristine forest. Summer is outdoor fun! Our sandy beach is your gateway to paddleboard or kayak adventures. BBQ a feast for everyone. Tie up your ski boat on the dock. Let your tensions melt away in the outdoor hot tub. Winter is refreshing walks and cozy times by the fire. Enjoy lingering meals and conversation at the huge dining table. The space You have the entire house, a 3 level, lakefront getaway in the midst of old growth trees, fronting the sparkling inviting waters of Lake Cavanaugh. Now let's walk you through how you might write your own adventure when you Gather at the Lake…. Summer Time Good morning after a peaceful night sleep in your comfy bed! Everyone has their own space with the choice of 3 bedrooms plus a 10 bed sleeping loft. Take your coffee and stake out one of the Adirondack chairs on the covered porch to take in the calm morning water scene before you. Prepare your breakfast in the kitchen while your favorite people are waking up and joining you at the counter stools. Everyone can spread out at the 14 person dining table. Morning is when the lake is smooth and quiet, a great time to get out on a couple stand up paddleboards, or explore the lake in the 3 person canoe. Listen to the birds and see the sun peeking through the trees. Now plan your next moves - is it a walk up our private forest hillside with the waiting covered swinging bench, or an adventure to one of several nearby hikes, or how about finding a corner to dive into that favorite book or journal? And of course take the little ones to the sandy beach to play. Lunch is a charcuterie board placed next to the 7 person hot tub, where - between the luxurious warm water and the stunning lake view - you may want to spend the whole afternoon. Rinse off in the outdoor shower and lay out on a lounge chair on the huge lawn or sit in a lake front chair. And if you want to acknowledge the world, you can always hop on Wi-Fi, or nestle into the TV nook to watch your favorite streaming show. The lake is waking up now! You brought your boat and PWC, so now's the time to take them out: skiing, wakeboarding, inner tubing… you're doing it all and having a blast. Time to prepare dinner on the 5 burner outdoor grille and gather everyone to the dining area for a lingering meal and to recount the day and enjoy one another's company. As evening approaches, it's time to grab your favorite beverage and the smores tray and gather around the lake side outdoor fire pit under the starry sky. The warmth and beauty of a fire never gets old and is the perfect setting to finish out an amazing day. Cool Weather and Winter Spoiler alert: this may be our personal favorite way to enjoy the lake house. If there is rain (or snow) on the forecast, the vibe shifts, but the magic remains! Hot tubbing in cooler weather is exhilarating! The covered porch is huge, so you can view the changing moods of the lake and stay dry. Put on your rain coat and walk up our forest trail to take in the peaceful beauty under the canopy of the swinging bench where you can enjoy long talks with your people, or precious alone time. Back in the house, the place is huge, so finding alone spaces is as easy as finding together spaces. In the living and dining area, spread out one of our puzzles and games, catch up on reading, and pick your favorite spot to enjoy conversation around the wood burning stove. The cozy beauty of the fireplace is absolutely a crowd favorite. Guest access The entire lake house property is yours to enjoy! Other things to note Lake Cavanaugh is a about 35 minutes from the nearest gas station, grocery store or restaurant. That's what makes it special and also means you should double check your packing list so you can minimize trips to town. We provide kitchen basics - coffee, tea, baking supplies, spices, etc. Also, Verizon cell service is very strong at the lake, but it is the only service available. We love our Lakehouse and have had many wonderful times here with family and friends. And now it's available for you to come and enjoy and build your own memories. Gather at the Lake!
