Island of Elba: sea and mountains

In the historic village of Poggio, among granite-paved streets surrounded by chestnut trees, on the hill overlooking the sea of Marciana Marina (5 km), a nerve center from which you can easily reach the clear sea of S.Andrea (10 km), snorkel in Pomonte to explore the wreck of the Elviscot ship, enjoy a sailing cruise on the boats that depart daily from the port of Marciana Marina, have an aperitif and then stroll in the evening among shop windows and stalls in the center. The space The apartment is a studio nestled in the narrow streets of the village, ideal for a couple, even friends. In the studio apartment, there is a double sofa bed and a small loft where a bed (120 cm mattress) has been created, which allows, if necessary, to accommodate a person or a couple. This additional bed arrangement has a comfortable latex mattress (more comfortable than the sofa bed) but it is not recommended for long stays (e.g. 2 couples) as the short distance of the bed from the ceiling (see photo) does not guarantee the same comfort as the main bed arrangement (full-size sofa bed). Even the wardrobe is designed for the needs of a couple, so those who intend to rent it for a stay of more than 2 people, although possible, must take into account the above, the surface of the studio (25 sqm) and the limited capacity of the wardrobe. A few meters from the apartment is one of the most sought after restaurants on the island, "La Trattoria Sciamadda" able to combine typical Genoese dishes, traditional local cuisine and the warm welcome of the owners. Here you can experience a different Elba, breathe the mountain air overlooking the sea. From there, one can easily get to the clean waters of S. Andrea (10 km – photo) or go snorkeling in Pomonte to explore the shipwrecked Elviscot. One can also enjoy a ride on a sailing boat, the boats leave daily from the Port of Marciana, in the evening one can have an aperitif or browse the various shop fronts and market stalls in the multicolored center of Marciana Marina. A few meters from the apartment is one of the most delightful restaurants on the island, "La Trattoria Sciamadda" capable of combining typical Genoese dishes, traditional local cuisine and the warm welcome of the owners. Here one can live a different kind of experience on the island of Elba, where one breathes the fresh air of the mountains while looking at the sea. There's fresh mineral water that flows naturally from the mountains which can be drunk at Napoleon's fountain, after which one can depart on a trekking adventure to the nearest mountains, Capanne and Perone. You can also head off into the woods to look for wild mushrooms and chestnuts, or simply relax in the historic center waiting for the sun to set.
