La Luciana! (Romantic gateaway)

A unique home located in the heart of Colombia, in the middle of the most amazing mountains with spectacular views. It’s an ideal place to rest and experience the true Colombia at your leisure. The home is situated at 1,815 metres above sea level in a town called Guateque at distance of 112 kilometres (70 mi) from BOGOTA. . Guateque was officially founded on the 28th January 1636, made famous by the Emerald mines and the fireworks. The space The building has two floors and a mezzanine, on the first floor, you can find a neat, fully equipped kitchen, cosy living/relaxing area (with extra hanging hammock), toilet with a shower (cold) and above; there is a double room with amazing views, this area can accommodate 4 people as the sofa is a sofa bed. Right in front of the unique triangular window there are spectacular views for you to watch the lightning storms above the opposite mountains. On the Ground floor, there is a spacious bedroom, with a king size bed and on-suite toilet (hot shower), there are large doors which can be opened to enjoy the view. Surrounding the property you will find hammocks to relax, enjoy the views and read, the perfect place for meditation or playing a musical instrument, all with direct view to the stunning mountains. PROs • You can experience the authentic Colombian lifestyle. • We have compiled a number of tourist experiences you could do while staying here, please ask for more information if interested, such as; - Shop in the local Market - Visit our local coffee plantation - Have a tour of an artisanal beer microbrewery - Be a miner for a day by visiting the Emerald mines which made this region famous - Ecological walks in the variety of ecosystems - Enjoy cycling and other pursuits in the local mountains • Fully equipped kitchen. You are your own master chef. • Short 1km walk/taxi to town where you will find all food supplies. • There is a Local Market on Wednesday; you can find the most amazing tropical fruit and veg, experience how vibrant the town is on market day. • You will go to bed by the sound of the night and be awaken by the sound of lovely birds. CONs • LA LUCIANA is part of local nature, our cleaning standards are at the highest, but that doesn't stop occasional insect from visiting the house. Please consider this before booking. Did you know that a spider can make a new web in under 1 hour? With our biggest efforts to keep the house perfect and insect free, you have to expect that there will be some spiders, bugs and mosquitos. That is just nature and we can't do anything more for it. :) • The Internet is very poor and sometimes not working at all. We recommend being prepared for the off-the-grid experience. • We are situated above a newly resurfaced road which at times can be busy. • We are not a hotel, we don't offer hotel services or 24/7 reception.
