Howzit! This property has been dressed in quirk, with a focus on fun! Everything you need to stay entertained at home, with a tiki bar, arcade machine, a selection of lawn games (pétanque, croquet & cornhole) as well as a braai (barbecue) and entertainment suite. The space Bedroom 1: Spacious room with king size extra length bed, ample cupboard space, ensuite bathroom with shower, as well as doors opening out onto the deck. Bedroom 2: Queen size extra length bed with open clothes rail. Guests have access to a separate bathroom with a bath, or a third bathroom with a shower. Kitchen: Open plan kitchen with all appliances necessary for your stay. Nespresso coffee machine, microwave, gas stove with stovetop kettle, washing machine, dishwasher. Dining Room: The dining table seats 6 comfortably and there is a bookshelf with loads of classics to choose from. Please note that the fireplace is purely decorative, but there are two heaters provided to keep you warm on those chilly Joburg nights. Lounge: A 55" flatscreen TV connected to Netflix and Showmax for any rainy days spent inside. Tiki Bar: Yes, you read that right. A tiki bar that opens out onto the spacious deck, with an arcade machine with over 2000 games, as well as a bluetooth speaker for you to pump up your jams. Located in the heart of the Parks area of Johannesburg, this property is a short walk from Greenside's popular Gleneagles Road, with plenty of bars, coffee shops and restaurants to choose from (Doppio Zero never disappoints!). Or a 5 minute drive from trendy Parkhurst, with its abundance of boutiques, coffee shops, restaurants and bars. If you want a fun night out, try the Jolly Roger - one of Johannesburg's oldest pubs with great pizza and it even has a jukebox! There is also Melville's 7th Street 10 minutes away - dubbed the 12th coolest street in the world in a Time Out survey from 2021. Xai-Xai Lounge offers an authentic Mozambican experience, do karaoke at Ratz or catch some live music at Smoking Kills. Or, if you're looking for a high street-type experience, head to the Rosebank Mall, with a plethora of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars (check out Cracker Zacs for a fun arcade/bar experience). Also on our doorstep is Emmarentia Dam, perfect for picnics, walks or try your hand at canoeing on the main dam. In the opposite direction is Zoo Lake, where you can rent a rowboat and take in the sights from the water. There's loads more to do in and around the area, so please feel free to reach out to us for any other recommendations of things to do and see. Please note: This is South Africa, and you'll therefore need to deal with load shedding (scheduled power cuts) - the schedule will be sent to you before your stay, but if you'd like to stay in the loop, we are Greenside (2) on Eskom se Push (a load shedding scheduling app). The house does have solar to power the lights during loadshedding. There is also a burglar alarm that can be armed if you leave the property for an extended period, and beams in the garden you can arm at night if you so wish. There are two offices at the back of the property - these are accessed through the property next door and should have no impact on your stay, however you may notice one or two people coming and going during office hours, so don't get a fright! Lastly, our lovely caretaker, Chanda, also stays at the back of the property and is there to assist you if you need anything at all.
