The Library | Riad Idrissy

The Library is one of our most exquisite rooms. At the back of the house, that leads off the library on the middle floor, It has a 4 poster bed with its own staircase & windows onto the internal courtyard. It can be an expansive king size room or can be set with a another bed for 3 people. The ensuite bathroom is furnished with a rain shower, mist-free mirrors, heated towel rails, hairdryer & bathroom products. The space Our 400 year old Riad is named after the descendants of the city’s founder. Having acquired the property from the Idrissys in 2006 an epic preservation and renovation project was undertaken, restoring the palatial Fassi architecture and combining it with 21st century comfort. Over the years, successive generations added their mark to the interior; painted cedar ceilings, pierced plasterwork, carved cedar doors. The furnishings have been chosen to highlight the Riad’s evolution as well as its position in Africa and the Arab world. Everything here has been either sourced, designed or made in Morocco. There are many places to relax. Take a sundowner on the terraces while watching the play of light over the whole medina and Mount Zalagh. Escape the mid-day heat in the cool seclusion of the courtyard or on our very special Evita balcony. Ease yourself into the day in the ruined garden with its splashing fountains, faded zellige and crumbing columns, feeling as if it might on a grand tour. Fez is a city that that still feels directly connected to its past. This UNESCO protected World Heritage Site was founded by Moulay Idriss in 789. The winding streets and alleys form the world’s largest car-free urban area, the widest streets allowing only 2 mules to pass one another. The grand salon, terraces and roof top garden and open access to the Ruined Garden next door. A member of our team will be on hand 24/7 to assist with anything.you might need.
