The Big Bamboo in Hodges Bay House

The Big Bamboo Suite is situated in Hodges Bay House. It is 1 of 3, separate and private suites in the house. We are 20 mins. from Douglas Charles Airport, a 5 min. drive to the seaside village of Calibishie and 1.5 hours from Roseau. Enjoy your private, indoor plunge pool! The suite is a very spacious 1,900 sq.ft, with plenty of outdoor area on the balcony over looking the infinity pool and ocean. Perfect for families and couples. The 2 bedrooms are air-conditioned.** ** AC from 7pm to 7am. The space Hodges Bay House is a newly and completely renovated vacation property rental (2023/2024), with 3 private and separate suites. The Crow's Nest sits at the top, the Big Bamboo in the middle and the Rum Runner at garden level. All 3 suites have spectacular ocean views. The Crow's Nest also has mountain views. The Big Bamboo and Rum Runner look onto the infinity pool and ocean. We are near beach access, Hodges Bay Beach. An infinity pool and propane fire pit in the back garden, complete this fantastic property! We have a queen sized air mattress available ( for a minimal 1 time fee per stay), 2 toddler cots and a crib ( free of charge). We can arrange excursions for our guests: river tubing, waterfalls, beach exploring... Yoga on the pool deck with massages afterward?...we can arrange that. We are close to Batibou Beach, The Red Rocks and Pointe Baptiste, to name but a few beautifully scenic spots. Although we feel we've done everything possible to make the villas modern and comfortable, we are reminded at times that we are still embracing life on a developing nation. Wifi may not be as fast as you are used to...it may rain a lot; like a lot, a lot...which means our water pressure changes and becomes low. The AC will not be as frigid as you are used to. Embrace life on Dominica in all it's raw, natural beauty! Guest access Guests have access to the entire suite. The indoor pool is private, and only for use for guests of the Big Bamboo. The Infinity Pool is for all of our guests to enjoy. The shallow end is 18 inches, the deep end is 4ft. It is a chlorinated pool, and solar heated. Children must be monitored at the pool at all times. We do not offer lifeguard services. Other things to note There is a dog onsite. Opee is a very friendly family dog. All we ask is that you do not feed her, no matter how cute she is. Dominica is a beautiful, natural island, and it is also a developing nation. The internet is not going to be as fast as you may be used to. The water pressure may vary in rainy weather. Regular, every day conviences we take for granted in North America and Europe may not be available.
