Hello! I’m Ira, and I run a cozy homestay in Palampur, nestled at the foothills of the Dhauladhar mountains. Our eco-friendly mud house is built with natural materials like mud bricks and bamboo, blending traditional architecture with modern comfort. It stays warm in winter, cool in summer, and offers a peaceful, sustainable stay. We support mindful travel and local livelihoods by using local materials, labor, and offering an authentic mountain living experience. The space Nestled in the quiet village of Kandbari, Palampur—at the foothills of the mighty Dhauladhar mountains—our eco-friendly mud home invites you to breathe deeply, slow down, and reconnect. Crafted with mud bricks and bamboo, the home is a warm embrace of tradition, comfort, and nature’s rhythm. Surrounded by forests and ancient paths, Kandbari is a gateway to both peace and adventure. Wander through whispering woods on gentle treks to Langha Mata, Jakhni Mata, or Birni Mata. For the spirited soul, longer trails await—to Patech, Sat Chali, and Ookhal Mool, where nights under the stars become stories. In summer, climb beyond the treeline to Waru Pass (3850 m) or Jalsu Pass (3900 m), crossing into the enchanting Ravi valley. Each trail follows the footsteps of generations who walked these hills with reverence and purpose. Here, in the lap of the Dhauladhars, every journey begins with stillness—and ends in awe. Guest access All common areas, garden, farm, playground. Other things to note -Please bear in mind that we are a homestay offering you all the best comfort in a remote village. While we aim to give you the best experience desirable, sometimes things here can take a bit longer than they usually take in a city. -The nearest market shops are roughly 10 min away where you can find provision stores for buying groceries and daily need items. -Loud music and unruly behavior is not appreciated. We expect you to respect the local villagers and the natural pristine surroundings you are in. -We request you to generate minimum plastic waste as the garbage disposal system for the village will not be able to cater to it. -We encourage you to promote local businesses and engage responsibly with the local community.We offer healthy, slow cooked meals just as we do for our household. -We cook with cold pressed oils and locally available vegetables and offer meals with nutritious grains like Ragi, Jowar, minor millets like Kutki, Kauni etc., sprouted dals and homemade chutneys. We also offer detox juices like ash gourd and cucumber. We can provide special diets for diabetics and people with other health issues. You can also avail yoga and meditation sessions for beginners. - Rooms will be ready on check-in. For any subsequent cleaning, a Cleaning Fee of INR 350 will be charged per cleaning. For long stays, mandatory cleaning once per week will be done for maintenance and will be chargeable. - Pets (Two friendly dogs and cats)around the property. - Minimum concretization means you stay as close to nature as possible, which may include many native birds and insect species around.! !
