There is also a private entrance to a small patio on the side of the house that is designated solely for guest's use. Other things to note Joshua Dillingham, the original owner who built this house in 1800, owned wood lots in the surrounding area. We found a copy of his will tacked to a beam during renovations. In keeping with the time period, he left his estate to his sons. His wife was allowed to live in the house until her death and keep her jewelry but could only use wood from the lots for her own use versus selling it. That opportunity was granted solely to his sons.
