We combine the reduced life in nature in a self-built, simple hut in a unique location on the edge of the forest with modern design. We are not a professional hotel business. Insects are to be expected! Attention: be sure to follow the instructions for the equipment! The space Our cottage differs from a "typical" vacation rental in a few ways :) Please read this urgently! We can often accommodate this :) You'll be staying in a simple, self-built, one-room cottage built using sustainable timber construction methods in a completely secluded location surrounded by nature. Here, you can enjoy a low-impact lifestyle and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. 🌱 Please be sure to read the text below about our tiny house's basic technical features :) You are on an organically managed traditional orchard on the edge of the forest with a view of the rugged and beautiful expanses of the Upper Palatinate Hills Nature Park. The walls, ceiling, and floor of the tiny house are covered with oiled planks, which ensures a pleasant indoor climate. In about 20 square metres, you'll find a double bed, a small kitchenette with the most essential equipment, a closet, a wood-burning stove, a dining area, and a living area. Bed linens for 2 guests are provided, but no towels. We can provide folding mattresses for additional guests. Thanks to the huge panoramic windows in all areas, you can enjoy the magnificent views to the south and west and the spectacular sunsets from every spot. It's a very special experience, especially in rough weather: You experience the forces of nature up close, sitting right in the middle of it – but protected behind glass and with cozy warmth. The area around the house is screened from view by the way the building is oriented and by hedges. Thanks to its insulation and wood-burning stove, the house is also suitable for winter! You have to heat it yourself with wood. Wood is provided. Experience using a wood-burning stove is helpful – or alternatively, a bit of an adventurous spirit and a willingness to learn ;) In the check-in information, we'll provide you with a comprehensive collection of instructions, tips, and videos. When temperatures are below freezing, the fire must be stoked vigorously and regularly, including 1-2 times during the night. Then it will be nice and warm. 🔥 Please note: In exceptionally severe winter conditions, i.e. snow depths of more than 10 cm or ice, the access road may become impassable in extreme cases. The nearest parking lot on a road with normal winter maintenance would then be 500 metres away. If this happens at all, it's at most once a year. ❄️ If possible, we offer to shuttle you once, including your luggage. In general, driving on the farm road is always at your own risk. !Please note regarding the technical equipment! We originally built this little house for ourselves because we love this place so much. Later, we also wanted to open it up to guests :) The cottage has already been around for a few years, and the natural materials are aging and developing patina and character. 🤎 Also, not all the windows always operate perfectly, but everything works well enough :) Our price for an overnight stay is based less on a flawless space and more on the location and the exceptionally high level of effort required to provide you with a special vacation in the heart of nature :) 🤍💚 The electricity for the lighting comes from a camping battery. You can charge your cell phone or laptop. Electrical appliances cannot be used. Very good cell phone reception. There is no fridge. There is no running water! Dishes can be washed and personal hygiene can be taken care of at the small sink in the kitchenette using water and wastewater canisters (10 litres). Two full canisters are provided. The wastewater must be emptied manually. Outside, there is a freestanding dry toilet and a solar shower bag, which can also be heated inside by the stove. Bed linens, toilet paper, and dishwashing liquid are provided. Please note that no towels are provided! Due to its location in the middle of nature on an organically managed orchard, insects of all kinds can be expected near the cottage and, occasionally, inside as well. Two windows and the patio door have insect screens. Note: Unfortunately, one of the large windows recently developed a crack. It has been discreetly sealed. The functionality is not impaired, but the repair is minimally visible. Access via a dirt road. Parking is available right by the house. If more sleeping places are needed, please let us know. We can provide simple folding mattresses with sheets, wool blankets and sofa cushions. There are numerous beautiful walks, hikes and bike rides around the accommodation 🌳 ✨NEW✨ My guests will soon be able to book a visit to a professional dog groomer for their four-legged friends at a discounted rate. This service will be available starting in January 2026. Your dog will be picked up from the tiny house by the dog taxi, pampered and groomed, and then brought back safely.
