Description

Get away from it all with our fabulous safari tents. Sleeping up to 6 people in 3 bedrooms they are perfect for friends or families. They have a large living and dining area as well as a built in shower room and kitchenette. The windows allow light to flood into all areas inside, and the spacious veranda allows you to be at one with your surroundings. With underfloor heating and insulated canvas you will feel cosy even on colder days. The space This safari tent is located in quiet field behind Mersea Barns. Mersea Barns is set on 20 acres of land. Our shop and cafe is open 8.30am - 4pm every day serving delicious breakfasts and lunches. The shop stocks essentials, drinks, nibbles and gifts. The fields overlook farmland and the quiet creeks to the north of Mersea Island. Guest access Guests are free to explore and play the Mersea Barns fields. Please be aware, our site was formerly a pick-your-own farm and we have not yet cleared all the areas of its equipment, plant supports and what became scrub areas; these areas are therefore potentially dangerous, so do not enter any of the polytunnels (except the part laid out for customer use, in accordance with the charges and other terms of use for it) or any area which has on it old equipment, plant supports, tool sheds or the like or areas of that farm which have become scrub land. Other things to note We strongly recommend you have the use of a car during your stay. Public transport is limited on Mersea Island. There is no bus service in East Mersea and it is a long walk down a nasty road from the nearest bus stop in West Mersea. Taxis on the island can be unreliable. If you are coming by train, there is a good train service to Colchester and you can pick up a taxi from either Colchester North or Colchester Town train stations.
