Welcome to Rancho Los Alacranes, your very own private Ranch resort in the Heart of the Rio Grande Valley. This is a private and exclusive rental, meaning that you will have the entire 500 acres to yourselves. This is a perfect place for your family, church or business to enjoy the freedom of the land, a host of activities and 1st rate accommodations. This ranch is part of The Texas Family Reunion vacation rental group, which is a network of ranches in throughout Texas offering retreats. The space Rancho Los Alacranes consists of 6 independent houses with 12 bedrooms making this property perfect for large family reunions, corporate or church retreats. It is a property like no other in the Rio Grand Valley. Rancho Los Alacranes: (sleeps 41) Breakdown of Bedrooms: Main Lodge (sleeps 9) Bedroom 1: 1 King/ 1 bunk Bedroom 2: 2 Queens/ 1 single Casita #1 (sleeps 6) Bedroom 3: 1 King Bedroom 4: 2 Queens Casita #2 (sleeps 6) Bedroom 5: 1 King Bedroom 6: 2 Bunkbeds Casita #3 (sleeps 6) Bedroom 7: 1 King Bedroom 8: 1 King/ 1 bunkbed Casita #4 (sleeps 6) Bedroom 9: 1 King Bedroom 10: 2 Queens Casita #5 (sleeps 8) Bedroom 11: 1 King/ 3 bunkbeds The ranch consists of 500 acres of open grasslands and mesquite thickets, making it a perfect place to observe the abundant wildlife on the ranch including: whitetail deer, turkey, Nilgai, javelina, and a wide variety of bird species. There are over 8 miles of private trails for guests to explore on their own ATV’s or high clearance vehicles. Guests can enjoy fishing on their private 3.5 acre pond which includes a variety of species including catfish, redfish, bass and bluegill. Hiking on over 8 miles of private trails. Please keep in mind this is an exclusive, family-oriented resort. We do not allow wild bachelor parties or keg parties. The minimum age required to register your group is 25 years old. Square Dance with Professional Callers: $450 (All Guests) Our square dances are a great opportunity for groups to truly get into the country spirit. A pair of professional callers will lead you through the steps of a variety of dances. Its fun for all ages. The event takes 2 hours and must be reserved in advance. 2. Wine and Cheese tasting: $350 (10 guests 21 aged and over) If you have a desire for some culinary culture than our wine and cheese tasting may be perfect for you. Our staff will present an assortment of hill country fare at the main lodge and educate the participants on everything they try (with a bit of trivia added). 3. Painting Class by the pond - $75 per person (5 person minimum) This is a favorite activity for the ladies (but men love it too). We set up easels and canvases on the lawn and an instructor teaches everyone how to paint a subject with a Texas theme. This event takes 2 hours and must be reserved in advance. 4. Cowboy Barbacoa: $1100 for pig/ (up to 30 guests) This is as Texan as it gets. We slowly roast a whole pig over a spit for half the day and at suppertime our staff serves it barbacoa-style outdoors. The meal portion takes 1 hour and this event must be reserved in advance. 5. Roping Lessons: $400 for all guests Nothing says “Texas” like learning how to rope from a real west Texas Cowboy. This event is a ton of fun and everyone can try it. Your group will learn the techniques of roping like a real cowboy and in no time everyone will be hitting their target. This event takes 1.5 to 2 hours, is for all ages and must be reserved in advance. 6. Flyfishing instruction: $250 for up to 5 guests This is a great chance to learn the basics of fly-fishing. Your instructor will teach you to assemble and bait your rod, proper casting techniques, and once you have the basics down its time to fish! Our stocked pond is a great place to reel in a variety of fish. This event takes 2 hours and must be reserved in advance. 7. Charter Fishing: Get ready for some world Class gulf coast fishing with th Ranch's private guide and charter captain. The ranch retains the use of 2 boats available for charter fishing just a short 25 minute drive to Port Mansfield. This must be reserved in advance. 8. Cigar rolling: If you are looking for a chance to add something special to your getaway consider having a professional cigar roller prepare top of the line cigars right in front of you fresh from the leaves. This event must be reserved in advance. 9. Air boats: Cruise around the gulf as in your very own air boat! This is fun for the entire family. This event takes 2 hours and must be reserved in advance. 10. Horseback riding: If you are interested in hitting the trails we can set up a trail ride right outside your front door. We offer 1-2 hour rides. This event must be reserved in advance. 11. Private Massage: If you'd like to truly pampered you can treat yourself or your loved ones to a private massage on the property. This event must be reserved in advance. 12. Cowboy Breakfast: If old fashioned fireside cooking is to your liking hire a pair of real south Texas Cowboys to prepare a meal for your group. This event must b reserved in advance. 14. Hunting Packages: the ranch has its own guide services and offers a variety of hunting packages including: Nilgai, whitetail, turkey, hog, duck, quail and dove hunts. Please message us if you have specific questions. This service must be reserved in advance of arrival. Guest access Except for the caretaker's home the the entire ranch is available to guests. They have access to the main lodge and 5 separate casitas as well as 500 acres of land, miles of trails, and a private lake for fishing and kayaking.
