READ ENTIRE LISTING DESCRIPTION BEFORE BOOKING! We have an 8 person/guest limit. We are aware that our home is large enough to accommodate more, however we have set our limit at 8. If you’re renting for baseball, no team parties, no exceptions. We are unable to accommodate requests for early check-in or late check-out. Leaving the comfort of your home doesn't mean you have to leave comfort! Relax & enjoy your stay at Covered Bridge Stables! Invisible from the road with a 2,000' long driveway, the home sits on a hill where you’ll have breathtaking views and complete privacy. With over 3,600 sq ft of living space plus the patio space, there's room to stretch out and relax. (Guests should know that while staying in our home we live in an apartment above our stables. We will not get in your way, nor will we ‘spy’ on you! We’re way to busy keeping up with barn chores and landscaping and working!) Star gaze from the spacious front or back yards. Watch the sun set while grilling or making s'mores over a fire on the patio, watch deer graze all around you while bald eagles soar overhead. Roam the many trails that meander through the property. The kids will love splashing around in the creek or the pond and kayaks will be available to paddle around the island! (Creek & pond levels may vary according to winter snow pack & summer rain or lack thereof. Nature is out of our control) Two TV's available, one in great room and one in master, hundreds of channels to choose from. Note: One dog, Saylor the Standard Poodle (11 months old) live on the property as well as a cat, Zoe (Siamese) stays in the garage (she goes in and out at her leisure). They are very friendly but guests most likely won't see them. We do come up quietly once a day to feed Zoe. You most likely won’t know we’ve come & gone. PLEASE NOTE: We do require the person responsible for renting the property to be there upon check-in for the walk-thru. This helps everyone stay on the same page as instructions/explanations are given first hand rather than second. We also don’t allow shoes on our cherry floors. Shoes are fine on the stone however. Additionally, as stated above, there is NO SMOKING in our home or anywhere on our property and we have an 8 person/guest limit. Thanks!! You'll have access to the main level, upper level & lower level of the home as well as front patio and back deck. Unless previously arranged, guests won't have access to attic space or garage. Feel free to roam the property, explore the old railroad bed, use the little bridge to access the island. We're happy to show you around the property; the ‘secret' swimming & fishing holes abound! There will be closet space available as well as dresser space. Love horses? Feel free to watch our horse graze, being worked with in or around arena. No guest access in the stable. Additionally, please do not open any gates or enter any paddocks or pasture. It’s fine to pet the horses but please don’t stick arms through fence or attempt to feed them. Potential renters should know that we have a working stable, complete with horses, 88 acres, beautiful lawns and professional designed flower gardens. These require up keep. Our goal is to give you as much privacy as possible. We make every effort to do yard work while you're away. However the property requires almost daily maintenance to look like it does. You may see us mowing, dead heading flowers, planting, or pulling weeds...we won't bother you though & will be gone as soon as possible! (We’re happy to answer any questions you may have though!) You will be greeted by a welcome basket with useful items for you to enjoy as well as our Home Guide Book! We want to make your stay as comfortable & carefree as possible. We're happy to answer any questions. Covered Bridge Stable begins with a 2,000' private drive that passes by the stables, past the arena & winds through trees and up to your home away from home. Not only can't you see another house, no one can see you! So relax and enjoy the quiet privacy you deserve! Being in this private setting doesn't mean you're sacrificing convenience. Oneonta is minutes away so you're close to groceries, restaurants and gas! From Covered Bridge Stables you'll be 17 minutes from All Star Village & 25 minutes from Dreams Park. You'll be 6 short minutes by car to Oneonta where you'll find shopping, activities, and restaurants galore! One thing we'd like guests to know is that we are on a private well. The water is perfectly safe to drink, bathe in or do laundry. However there are times it will have a 'sulfur' smell. We do treat for this using several filtration systems. If the smell is present while showering for example, YOU will NOT smell!! Neither will any laundered clothes. The fridge dispenses filtered water as well as cubed & crushed ice. Bathrooms. We have 2 full bathrooms and 2 half bathrooms. One of the full bathrooms is en-suite to master (king bed) bedroom. The second full bathroom is in the upper level. There’s a half bath on the main floor in the hall and the second half bath is on the lower level.
