(Selling Houses Australia Season 16 episode 1). Built between 1846 and 1847 by the SA Mining Association and designed by G.S Kingston. The ‘Thames Street Cottages’ are some of the first buildings to be built in Burra, and are a fine example of some of the earliest residential buildings that still remains in South Australia. A separate dining room with a combustion wood heater. Bathroom with toilet shower sink and bath. Fully equipped kitchen. Laundry with washer and dryer facilities. On arrival you will be greeted with a complimentary bottle of local wine as part of your welcome hamper, with a range of treats to tide you over. The cottage features a bounty of old-wares, copper items, musical instruments and antique curios. The barbecue is sited on the side of the property in a quaint undercover area, perfect for morning and afternoon teas as well as a barbecue. Please remember to leave the barbecue clean and tidy for the next guest. If you have your pet staying with you, please pick up their poo and dispose of using the bags provided. So as not to incur an additional cleaning fee, please remove all pet hair/fur before leaving. An ideal pet walk is along the creek which you can access by turning right at the end of Upper Thames Street past the petrol station and across the bridge. Other things to note Burra itself is an historic mining town with National Heritage status and attracts tourists from all over the world. Along with Moonta, Burra is currently in review for their bid to attain "World Heritage status" as part of the Cornish mining heritage worldwide. Burra has won two awards from the 2024 Hello SA Top Tourism Town Peoples Choice. "Tiny Tourism Town" and "People's Choice Award". The area has a good number of interesting sites to visit which have been listed in the hand guide available inside the property and online via this listing. In addition you are situated very close to the Clare Valley and Barossa Valley wineries which are renowned worldwide. The amount will be calculated and forwarded to the client once the power bill has been received. Payment of the power bill and water bill is due within 7 business days of receipt of the invoice.
