Private bath room and toilet. Our hotel, Guesthouse Goettingen is quietly located in the centre of Kyoto City within walking distance to Nijo-Castle and Imperial Palace. It's the perfect place for travelers from all over the world. With the comfortability of a private room with private bath and toilet, you still have the opportunity to meet fellow travellers in our common space on the first floor. The space No elevator. Guests have to climb up the stairs. 1st floor: Front desk Common area (kitchen and sitting space) Laundry corner (free) Guest room 2nd floor: Guest rooms 3rd floor: Guest rooms This room is perfect for families or small groups of friends. It has its own washing and drying machine inside the room, but it is also possible to use the shared one in the common space if necessary. Guest access The closest train station is Marutamachi station. It has easy access to Kyoto station, but it around a 15 minute walk from the guesthouse. Bus connection is great with a bus stop right by the guesthouse on the main street. You can take either City Bus 9 or City Bus 50 to the nearest bus stop called "Horikawa Shimodachiuri" (堀川下立売). It takes around 22 minutes from Kyoto station. Nearby you also have access to a supermarket on the corner to the main street, as well as numerous restaurants and places to eat along the main street. Other things to note Unfortunately we do not have an elevator in this property. Starting on October 1, 2018, Kyoto City imposes an accommodation tax on all guests staying in Kyoto City. The tax is 200 JPY per person each night. This fee is not included in the hotel rate. However, from March 1, 2026, the accommodation tax calculation will be changed.
