Rachel's Cottage.

Rachel's Cottage was built my my great grandfather around 1898. The family lived there until my great Aunty Rae died in 1986. We repurchased it in 2004 in a very derelict state. We have renovated the cottage, keeping the original style as much as possible. The kitchen and bathroom are accessible via a small covered verandah. We welcome a pet or two but there are strict conditions for this and approval must be sought first. The space Historical cottage in the Main Street of Texas. Next to grocery store. Open fire to relax around. Claw foot bath and wood stove. It was built in 1898. The kitchen and bathroom are detached which means that you cross a small verandah to get to them from the bathroom. The simple pleasure of sitting by the open fireplace toasting marshmallows and sipping port. To wake up in the morning, make a coffee and sit on the front verandah and enjoy the birdlife in the front yard, while the town wakes up, and gets busy in it's own special way. Taking a coffee down to the Dumeresq River and enjoy the flow of the water on a hot day. To be able to stay in a real heritage cottage, with detached kitchen and dining, whilst having to walk across the verandah to the kitchen and bathroom is unique. In the heat of summer it gets very hot in Texas. Due to the style of the cottage it is impossible to air condition the house, but we do have a portable air conditioner in the main bedroom Please be aware that we have installed a security camera to the exterior of the building in accordance with air bnb’s policy. There is no way this will encroach on your privacy and inside the cottage is not accessible by camera. Guest access Television, four poster bed and brass bed. Access to shops in main street, hotel, craft store. 5 minutes drive to dumeresq river. Other things to note Air conditioner is a portable type in the main bedroom only. There are portable fans in the other rooms. It does get very hot in summer. Although pets are allowed only with prior permission, please read the additional rules and accept that the guest is responsible for the pet and must pay for any damages caused.
