The Cedar. Fair Haven New York

We welcome you to enjoy our retreat in the Village of Fair Haven, New York. With endless beauty surrounding you, we are positive you will enjoy all that THE Cedar can offer. With views of the sunset over Little Sodus Bay from the master bedroom, we know you'll enjoy the calm location and comfort of our home. Don’t forget that the cabin is walking distance to lots of dining and shops in the village as well as Fair Haven Beach State Park! The space The Cedar is a Lindell cedar home built in the 60’s. The original cabin consisted of the small living area downstairs with the two bedrooms upstairs. In the 90’s the addition with the wood stove was built. The cabin is incredibly insulated and served as a year round home to the previous owners. NEW in 2025: this year we completely replaced the floors on the first level with gorgeous bamboo flooring and we added a split AC to the master bedroom! Guest access You get to enjoy the entire cabin with this rental and there is an extensive outdoor area with a patio, small pond, and a garden! (Please no fishing in the pond, it is stocked with Triploid grass carp which are strictly regulated by NY state and we can only restock every few years) Other things to note There is a sloped driveway to the main parking area and there are steps going down to the cabin that might cause an issue for people with accessibility concerns. In the winter, some cars may have issues getting out of the driveway without all-wheel drive. It’s also important to note that the only bathroom is downstairs and the two bedrooms are upstairs. We are in a wooded area, so we have the unpreventable ants, spiders, mice and other local wildlife (deer, foxes, raccoons, beavers, turtles, and bunnies have all made appearances as well). We have a contract with Orkin to treat the property and they are available for service should you notice any unwanted visitors. If this bothers you, you may want to reconsider booking in a non wooded locale.
