The Sampang Retreat

Nestled amidst nature (a 5-10-minute hike away from the main road), we offer a cozy retreat for up to four guests. The cottage, constructed from rustic wood, exudes a homely ambiance. Inside, you'll find a cozy living space/bedroom on the main floor and a quaint attic bedroom. The kitchen is also well-equipped catering to your needs. Outside, you can enjoy the fresh mountain air and soothing sounds of nature. We strive to ensure your stay with us is comfortable/memorable! The space Built in a 15-acre property, the cottage is surrounded by nature's embrace and promises tranquility and privacy for our guests. With lush greenery around, you'll immediately sense the serenity that defines this unique getaway. The cottage is strategically positioned to maximize privacy, ensuring that guests can fully immerse themselves in the natural beauty that surrounds them. Nature enthusiasts will be delighted by the frequent visits from birds and deer that grace the property. Imagine waking up to the melodies of chirping birds and taking a hike in the property to get a rare and immersive connection with the wildlife. Whether you're seeking a romantic escape, a family adventure, or a solo retreat, our cottage on this expansive property offers the perfect blend of privacy and nature's wonders. Guest access Guests can hike and visit small streams within the property. You can also stroll around our small nursery (where we grow a variety of plants and succulents) and farm (comprising a rooster, a hen and a cow, a big vegetable patch and a small orchard [where we grow avocado, guava and oranges]). However, you need to be careful at night and not venture into the forest in case you encounter a wild animal. If you want to indulge in touristy activities, tourist attractions like the famous tea gardens (Rungli Rungliot, Poomong and Teesta Valley) are only a 15-min drive away. You can also immerse in the view of Kanchenjunga from Tinchulay Gumbadara Viewpoint and ride a horse while you're at it (barely a 15-min drive from the property). Also, try visiting the Lamahatta Eco Park, Takdah Orchid Centre, Triveni, Takdah Monastery, Bara and Chota Mangwa, Hanging Bridge in Poomong and view points across Takdah (all these places will take you minimum 15 minutes to half an hour from the property). Other things to note Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be available at an additional cost on prior intimation. We also have a small DIY fire pit where you can enjoy a bonfire and barbecue; this will also be set up at an additional cost on prior intimation.
