Description
Created with retreat in mind, relax at this unique getaway amongst the River Red Gums near Mia Mia creek on Dja Dja Wurrung Country. Experience the seasons surrounded by nature, open skies and river red gums. The three cosy custom built huts are connected via a large open air deck, surrounded by gardens, native birds and the Milky Way. Perfect for a weekend, week or month - painting, bird watching, bush walking, reading or finishing your next book - whatever feels right for you. The space Let us take you through Gum Nut Huts! When you book you have all three huts and the property to yourself! The three huts are separate but mere steps apart and connected by the wide deck which is all one level. Hut 1 is the kitchenette and bathroom. There is an electric portable hot plate, bar fridge, kettle, toaster, cutlery, bowls, plates, cups, cooking utensils and wine glasses. The piece de resistance is the custom built wide wooden bench with chairs in front of the large window. Perfect for drawing or writing, it hosts a typewriter (in case that's your thing). In the bathroom there is a shower, toilet, double sink, mirror, iron, hair dryer, fan heater and wooden storage shelves. Hut 2 has a double bed, chair, dresser, black out curtains and a split system for cooling/heating. Hut 3 has a desk, desk chair, armchair and a day bed with a single futon mattress and a split system for cooling/heating. On the deck are 2 outdoor chairs with low tables, a dining table with chairs conveniently set next to the baby weber BBQ and outdoor sink. A market umbrella in summer, an outdoor heater for winter, a moveable swing chair and a nearby chiminea with outdoor benches complete the scene. The three huts have a relaxing view of the trees and surrounds and access to fast wifi. There's a pretty secret garden tucked behind the lounge hut and if you're lucky kangaroos hop through! There are so many spots to relax, have morning coffee, or an afternoon drink as the sun goes down. There's no one else on the property so you'll have the entire place. Your hosts live next door if you need anything. You may experience some traffic noise as it is near a country road and some trucks do go by. The sleeping hut is double glazed. There are various pretty walks close by and the town and shops including post, pub, chemist, butcher and IGA are only minutes away. There are regular farmers markets in surrounding towns. Guest access The guesthouse has its own driveway. Feel free to park inside the property near the huts. Other things to note Newstead is a lovely little town and very close to Maldon, Castlemaine, Daylesford and Bendigo. There are always festivals, farmers' markets and events somewhere close by!
