Enjoy our al fresco shower, have breakfast pondside, watch the birds, read, paint, learn to cook Thai food with host Air, explore the local temples, markets and country life: time to reenergise and rejuvenate yourself! The space The Tea Tree House gives you 64 square metres of indoor living space, in nearly an acre of prime nature. Wide sliding glass doors open up to the patio and our big pond and huge rain tree. Two large windows give you expansive views of all the nature, including two large lawns, a sala, and various fruit trees. Breakfast is included in the price, and Air is on hand to cook up her popular homemade Thai food for some unforgettable dinners. Sunsets and sunrises can be spectacular. Birdsong and activity is plentiful. You will feel a tremendous sense of space and joy from all the nature. It will feel like an escape from the world. King size bed with mosquito net. Toilets, basins and al fresco hot shower under the sky are connected at the rear. Natural soap and shampoo provided. We have for you fast wifi, a workspace, dining table, breakfast bar, comfy armchairs, fridge, small oven, kettle, local teas and coffee, Thai herbs, and any fruits in season from our garden. We have a choice of quality books, magazines, games, 100s of CDs, and an African drum, ukulele and guitar for budding musicians. As we have designed everything to harmonise with nature, we don't have air-conditioning, but there are four ceiling fans and one big movable fan. The roof is insulated. Guest access You have the full land area (about 45x75 meters) to enjoy, with a patio, a small lake, an amazing rain tree, and various living areas. You may occasionally see us tending to the land, but there are no other customers. It's all yours! Air and Phil stay in a small house just off the main land area. Air does all the cooking in our house. Other things to note Any taxi driver, or Grab driver (Thailand's equivalent to Uber) will find us without problem. We are 25 kms and 30 minutes from the airport, 28 kms and 35 minutes from the city centre. There is a local market 1 km away, and we have two bicycles for exploring the surrounding countryside, and taking in rural Thailand at a lovely slow pace. We suggest the ideal way to enjoy your Thai countryside experience at The Tea Tree House is to spend most of your time relaxing at the property, cycling around the local area, and to perhaps enjoy a half or full day tour which we can recommend and arrange for you. It will be your own personal tour! That might include bamboo rafting, elephant riding, temples, waterfalls, flower gardens, lunch-time forest hideaways and mountain resorts, massage with the finest masseur in all of Chiang Mai (if she's available), nearby herbal steam bath and ice plunge pool and swimming pool, and so much more. Air can teach you how to cook truly homemade Thai food, including northern Thai specialities with recipes handed down to her by her mum. Chiang Mai truly is an adventure playground surrounded by a natural wonderland!
