Full of its original character, completely refurbished in 2017, it offers great comfort with 2 spacious living rooms, and 5 double bedrooms, 4 of them ensuite. The fully-equipped kitchen has granite worktops and an electric AGA plus induction hob. The space Brook Cottage is a large and comfortable family house in a wonderful location with fabulous views. It is set on a quiet back lane in the hamlet of Fifehead St Quintin. It has almost complete privacy, since although it has one cottage visible from the back bedrooms, its entire garden at the front and side of the house is not overlooked by any other houses or visible from the road. The garden has beautiful lawns and a panoramic view of the fields and hills uninterrupted by any other houses. The private gravelled drive has parking space for 4 or 5 cars, and to the left there is a short footpath with a few steps up to the front of the house. Situated in the lovely countryside of the Blackmore Vale, north west of Okeford Hill and Bulbarrow, the house has a large garden of 0.9 acres, with outdoor covered dining area (enclosed in winter) and a long terrace with outdoor seating and a firepit. There is a kitchen garden behind the house with a vine and orchard trees. A garden gate leads onto a footpath across the field to the next village Fifehead Neville. Set in the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty the village is surrounded by lovely countryside for walking, cycling and riding. In not much more than 45 minutes you can be on the beach at Studland or Lulworth or walking along the world-famous Jurassic Coast. Dating from the 1800s, Brook Cottage has been substantially extended, with a major extension and full refurbishment done in 2017. It has 4 double bedrooms, one adjoining the main bathroom and the other 3 with their own ensuite shower room. There is a 5th bedroom adjoining the master bedroom with a double sofabed and a cot, so it can be used as either a dressing room or an extra bedroom, perfect for younger children or a baby. Two of the bedrooms have superkingsize beds, the third bed is kingsize and the fourth is a double. All linen and towels are provided. The front door opens into an attractive entrance hall, which has its own woodburner, and from it there are two large living rooms to the left. The main living room offers spacious comfort for a large group, with 3 large sofas, and an open fire, and a smart TV. The long study living room has 2 large sofas and armchairs and an inglenook fireplace. The study has 2 desk spaces: the house has good fast broadband, and has electric heating throughout, which is easy to manage, with all wall heaters coming on at the touch of a button, and this combined with using the two wood burners and the open fire in the evenings if you wish will give you the assurance of that real comfort you need on your holiday. We welcome you to light the fires if you need to, and you will find a supply of timber. The house has a large well-equipped utility room, with space to put your coats and boots, which opens onto the kitchen garden at the back of the house where you will find herbs and there is a parterre garden with vegetable beds. Turn right from the hallway into the kitchen corridor and next to the kitchen is a long walk in larder, where you will find all the kitchen equipment you need and extra fridge space. The kitchen – redone n 2017 - has a cream tiled floor and granite worktops, an island worktop and bar stools, and opens onto the dining space beyond it, which leads out to the garden. The kitchen has an electric AGA and additional fan oven and electric hob, a fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, electric kettle & toaster. You will find all the crockery you need in the large oak Welsh dresser, and the dining table can seat 10 people. Immediately outside the dining room door there is a beautiful outdoor dining area, where you can enjoy meals looking out over the garden and fields beyond: you can use this dining area in all seasons, because it can be enclosed with roll down and zip up plastic protection. The dining table is long and charmingly lit and has overhead electric heaters. There are local pubs at Ibberton and Hazelbury Bryan, and a village shop and post office in Okeford Fitzpaine and Hazelbury Bryan, and nearby Sturminster Newton has an acclaimed butcher and greengrocer, as well as a Co-op grocery store and Harts of Stur (a renowned kitchen, hardware and garden store). There are beautiful places to visit in every direction, with Milton Abbas, Cerne Abbas and Corfe Castle and the Jurassic coast to the south, as well as the historic towns of Blandford Forum and Dorchester, and the old hilltop town of Shaftesbury and the abbey town of Sherborne to the north and west. For those keen on walking, there is the North Dorset trailway nearby through Shillingstone, as well as Hambledon and Hod Hills, with superb views over the Blackmore Vale.
