Bula Beach House
Walk, bike, paddle, drop anchor, or roll up at our private beach, no bank waterfront house. Our house includes 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a full kitchen, 2 decks....and a privately owned beach with spectacular views of Mt. Baker and the Twin Sisters. The cabin has Wi-Fi internet access. NO PETS! Please be aware that during 2 weeks between April 16 - May 16 (the exact dates are unknown at this time), the car ferry is in dry-dock, so there is NO CAR ACCESS on/off the island. Foot Ferry Only The space Please note...there will be a passenger only ferry service from May 18 - June 15. Free bus service will be provided on the Island side. There is free parking on the mainland and free shuttle service on the island during this time, however, you are unable to bring your car on to the island during these dates. We are located on a private beach with 100' of low-bank waterfront. It is a funky little cabin that is perfect for a romantic getaway, a family, or 2 couples. There is a washer and dryer, 2 bathrooms, and 2 decks. There is a full kitchen with a full-size fridge and stove, microwave, drip coffee maker (plus filters & coffee), blender, and toaster oven. Wi-Fi internet access. No TV. Guest access You will have access to the entire house. Other things to note Local Events: - Live music at the Beach Store Cafe on Friday nights FOOD Groceries: The only grocery store, The Islander, has most of the basics. You'll want to bring the supplies you need for your meals or plan to eat out. DINING 1. The Beach Store Cafe, a block north of the ferry dock, has delicious food & drink plus espresso. Live music most Friday nights! 2. World renowned chef, Blaine Wetzel, runs The Willows Inn restaurant a couple miles up the road from the cabin They serve breakfast. Dinner reservations no sooner than 2 weeks from your requested date. 4. The SauseBurger Stand, located right next to The Islander store, is open on weekends. WINE TASTING 1. Artisan Wine Gallery is just a couple blocks away. This wonderful wine shop is open for tasting Fridays 4-7 and Saturdays 2-6 2. Legoe Bay Winery Check the website for current tasting hours. ACTIVITIES Kayak from our beach. It is epic. ...or...if you don't have kayaks.... Kayaking by Moondance Sea Kayak Wild Foraging Educational Tour Includes: Basic Kayak Instruction, Wild Foraging and Sea kayak Guide, Boats, all Kayak Gear (pfd, paddle, spray skirt, dry bag for personal gear), a spray jacket if needed, a lunch (including one wild foraged snack), Pac NW Wild Foraging Education and Handouts (developed by Jenny Hahn). Sea Kayak Focused Tour Includes: Basic Kayak Instruction, Sea Kayak Guide, Boats, all Kayak Gear (pfd, paddle, spray skirt, dry bag for personal gear), a spray jacket if needed, and lunch. Contact Moondance Sea Kayak for availability and to set up your trip! BOATING West Shore Marine offers a variety of boating tours seven days a week from Memorial Day to the end of September. Adventure awaits you on a morning, afternoon, or full-day excursion. Up to 5 passengers of all ages will enjoy viewing gorgeous scenery and a wide variety of wildlife throughout the San Juan Islands. $95 per Hour/Minimum of 3 Hours HIKING The Lummi Island Heritage Trust has three nature preserves. Each area features hiking and walking trails that are open to the public during daytime hours. The Heritage Trust is a non-profit organization dedicated to conserving the islands forests, farmland, open spaces, and undeveloped shorelines, and we encourage all guests to visit their resource center at the Otto Preserve to learn about the vicinity and the trust's work.
