Spending time in a Marquette neighborhood just south of the Northern Michigan University and UP Health System- Marquette is easy from his launching pad in the central Upper Peninsula. This comfortable apartment is simple and easy. New furniture lines the bedroom, living and dining rooms. Your entry starts with ease as parking in the extra wide driveway attached to the home is convenient. Ideal for the mid-term rental to host visiting professionals. The space This home is located in the south side of Marquette, central to UP Health System, Northern Michigan University (NMU) and Marquette Mountain. This is an older home which was converted into 3 apartments. The parking is easy, where you can pull right up to entryway, and walk the 5 steps up to the door. There is a shared entryway between Apartments 1 and 2. Then, each until has a separate entry into each apartment. Guest access Freshwater Vacation Rentals will email your arrival/departure instructions with door/lock box code. You will let yourselves in and out. The house is yours during your stay, enjoy and relax. There is a smart-lock on your entry door. Other things to note Air Conditioning: Bedroom window unit ATV's: Not directly from the property, yet ample parking for the ATV/trailer. Animals: Minimal wildlife in the surrounding this neighborhood apartment Bathrooms: 1 full (tub/shower), sink, toilet Beach/Swimming: While there are 6 nearby sandy beaches, South Beach is the closest to the apartment. Bedroom Configurations: 1- Queen bed Boats: No boats are provided, yet plenty of parking space for your boat/trailer. Boat Launch: Cinder Pond or Presque Isle marinas. Daily $6 (Available in the red launch boxes at Cinder Pond and Presque Isla Marina)/ Seasonal $70. (You can get your launch permit at the Lakeview Arena Parks and Recreation Office or the City of Marquette’s Treasurer’s Office.) Bugs: Mosquitos are popular near the water. Drinking Water: City water/sewer Drugs/Smoking/Fireworks: Freshwater does not permit illegal drugs of any kind on the property. Due to the location of the properties, smoking is strongly discouraged around the home and strictly prohibited in the home. Fireworks are prohibited at a Freshwater location for the safety of all persons in and around the property, even if it is legal in that city. Fireplace: None - Sorry Fire-pit: None on the property. Fishing: Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass and more. Fishing License: A license is required in order to fish in Michigan. Fishing Poles: We do not provide fishing poles. This is an older home. I hope to make the renovations to be more accommodating one day. Heat: Forced air (Gas)- Thermostat for all 3 apartments in the house is in this apartment, #1. Hunting: None in the near vicinity. The closest hunting is about a 45 minute drive in Southern Marquette County. Internet: Excellent. We have the strong internet feeds through Spectrum- 500 mbps. If you need to use our guest Netflix account, please ask. We also have cable TV as well, so you do not need to rely on streaming if you would prefer local channels. Linens: Yes, we provide your sheets and linens. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you upon arrival. We have just the basic sheets, pillows, pillowcases, and bath towels. Parking: Easy driveway parking for up to 2 vehicles and a trailer. Pets: Freshwater Vacation Rentals currently charges $75/per pet for your entire stay. Yes, we do accept dogs, yet we do ask that you please clean up after them both inside and outside the cabin. Plus, if you allow them on the furniture, we do ask that you please bring your own linens/blankets for them to sleep on. Just let us know which bed you will be using with them, and we’ll make sure it is ready for your sheets when you arrive. Plus, if the pet hair starts to build, we do ask that you please run the vacuum. Generally, dogs love the water and places to explore. Pet food does tend to attract mice, so vigilance is needed. Privacy: While Apartmetn has a separate entryway, there is a shared front entrance for Apartments #1 and #2. Snowmobiles: a person (resident and nonresident) that operates a snowmobile in Michigan is required to purchase a snowmobile trail permit. The trail permit enables snowmobilers to ride state-designated trails and thousands more miles of public roads and on public lands (where authorized). It is valid for one year, which begins Oct. 1 and ends Sept. 30 of the following year. State-designated trails are open Dec. 1-March 31 and grooming occurs when there is enough snow on the ground. - Marquette County Snowmobile Trails (about 5 miles) - Noquemanon Trail Network (NTN) (approx. 10-15 miles) – While primarily known for cross-country skiing, NTN also has snowmobile access during the winter months on specific trails. - Iron Ore Heritage Trail (approx. 5-10 miles) - Hiawatha National Forest Trails (approx. 20 miles) **Please trailer to trails** Space: This is an older home which was converted into a 3 unit apartment years ago. The house is on one level, after you walk through te entryway. Seniors: Not ideal, yet possible for many. There are about six (6) steps leading to the front entryway. Televisions: There is no brand new (2023), 55" TV in the living room. Towels: All bath and kitchen towels will be provided during your stay. Please bring beach towels with you! Washer and Dryer: There is a private washer/dryer in a separate laundry room, off the kitchen. Starter laundry detergent and dyer sheets are provided. Winter Activities: * Snowmobiling on Marquette County Trails (nearby) – The area has an extensive network of snowmobile trails for a great winter ride. (please trailer to trails) * Noquemanon Trail Network (NTN) (approx. 10-15 miles) – Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and fat biking in scenic forested trails. * Alpine Skiing at Marquette Mountain (approx. 5 miles) – Enjoy downhill skiing or snowboarding at this local ski hill. * Ice Skating at Lakeview Arena (approx. 2 miles) – Indoor ice skating rink for all skill levels. * Sledding at Presque Isle Park (approx. 2 miles) – A popular spot for winter sledding with great lake views. * Winter Hiking at Harlow Lake (approx. 10 miles) – Explore scenic winter trails perfect for hiking or snowshoeing. Wood: There is no campfire wood provided for this apartment since it is in a neighborhood.
