Our location is incredibly convenient, just a short drive away from major airports: 20 minutes from Fort Lauderdale Airport (FLL). - 45 minutes from Miami Airport (MIA) WATER TAXI The Fort Lauderdale water taxi now comes to Pompano, at the Sands Harbor Resort and Marina. Good fish tacos/happy hour and you can buy tickets and board the water taxi to Fort Lauderdale. Some of them have bar on board and speaking tour guides . CANAL : there is no fence between property and canal. The tides change drastically every day and on occasion the high tide is higher than usual (a.k.a. king tide) in which case the water may come above the lower dock. Please keep equipment and personal items off the lower dock to prevent loss/damage. NO SWIMMING THE CANAL CURRENT IS VERY STRONG AND TIDES CHANGE CAN BE TREACHEROUS. LIFE VESTS MUST BE USED FOR ALL ACTIVITIES LIKE FISHING, KAYAKS, PADDLEBOARD. Guest may bring their own boat and tie up to the open dock. Guests may use the fishing pole, cooler, kayaks and paddleboards. Must use life vests in canal. After each use, must pull out of canal and hose down all equipment with fresh water hose (100' hose on south side of house next to pool filter and ac unit). Use the rope to tie up kayaks upon getting on/off the kayaks. note: it's easier to get on/off kayaks during high tide otherwise use the ladder. TRASH The only chore we ask of our guests is to take out tras for hygienic reasons and to avoid pests. Non compliance has a penalty of $75.
