Description
The Hide Out is set on 2 acres, perched on the edge of a cliff overlooking the desert cities below. It is ideal for artists, creatives, writers, lovers, or anyone looking to be inspired by a truly unique natural environment. Riverside County Permit #003712 The space The Hide Out sits on two spectacular, private acres just three miles from the charming village of Idyllwild. Secluded and serene, the property is designed to fully embrace the natural beauty of the San Jacinto forest, with thoughtfully created spaces that invite both relaxation and exploration. The outdoor living areas are a highlight, featuring three distinct decks for enjoying the mountain setting at every hour of the day. Guests can dine al fresco, fire up the BBQ, lounge on the outdoor sofa, soak in the hot tub, or retreat to a unique lookout deck with sweeping views of the desert cities below ( you can even see the Pacific Ocean on clear days!) Inside, the Big Sur–inspired modernist cabin is centered around a dramatic picture window that brings the forest indoors. The home balances style and comfort, offering a full kitchen, central heating, air conditioning in the bedrooms and den spaces, a tankless hot water system, reliable Wi-Fi, and two wood-burning stoves for cozy evenings. The bedrooms are designed for deep rest and comfort, each featuring high-quality mattresses and linens. The king bedroom includes a Keetsa Tea Tree Supreme latex hybrid mattress, while the queen bedroom features a Tempur-Pedic mattress. Both are dressed in 100% cotton linens. The bathroom is a standout, with an extra-deep clawfoot soaking tub and a separate shower—perfect after a day of hiking or stargazing. Hardwood floors run throughout the living spaces, with soft carpeting in the bedroom areas for added warmth and comfort. Guest access You access codes and house guide will be emailed to you the day before your stay Other things to note WINTER ACCESS: Snow is possible from October - May. In the event of snow, we will have the front of the drive plowed for parking, however you will have to walk from the gate to the house. Be prepared to walk uphill in snow approximately 500 ft. After snow events, chains or 4x4 vehicles may be required to get up the mountain. CHILDREN: The cabin itself is not child proofed and the surrounding property has several dangers, including its location right on the edge of a steep cliff. Small children would be better accommodated at other listings. INTERNET: T-Mobile is our internet service provider and we find that streaming movies and basic surfing arent a problem. HOWEVER it is slower and less reliable than fiber optic networks and those who plan to spend their time on multiple devices or download large files would be advised to find another property. We are 5 minutes from town and do not have access to faster services. POWER OUTAGES: These happen more regularly in the mountains and you should be prepared. We have 2 stoves to keep the house warm, and flashlights are provided, but we do not have a back up generator for such events. NO SMOKING: This is a no smoking property. NO PETS: No pets allowed.
