Midori-An 緑庵 (The Garden)

A refuge in the greenery for you, your dogs, and your friends The space Midori-an in Japanese literally means "green refuge" and is a new structure in Maglie that seems to have always been there due to its discreet and secluded location despite being a short walk from the city. It has a beautiful large garden cared for every 2 weeks by trusted gardeners, a small but well-organized house. It has been influenced by my travels: the sleeping area upstairs is a wooden structure with exposed beams resembling a mountain chalet that at the same time gives a nod to Japan with its minimalism and excellent organization of spaces. The bathroom door (comfortable, with a washing machine and dryer) is Moroccan-inspired, while the colors are the protagonists of the loft below with a sofa, large TV and living area. The outdoor spaces are large, with green bushes, lots of rose plants and geraniums in vibrant colors. A romantic corner is represented by the white wrought iron gazebo with a beautiful cloth in cheerful colors, pink, fuchsia yellow and matching cushions, and again... a set of outdoor seats on a parterre of majolica and terracotta with a blue background. The furnishings include hi-tech appliances such as the American refrigerator that makes ice instantly, an induction hob, unlimited Wi-Fi, all the utensils for eating including glasses and jugs to have tea outdoors under the gazebo... while playing cards outdoors, for example. At the back there is an outdoor shower and a barbecue for grilling with friends, which you can enjoy even in the rain by sheltering under a large canopy next to the house. The Aegean Blue gate is automatic with remote control, you can bring dogs or enter with the boat in tow given the size of the garden. The area is ideal for jogging in the morning, and the breathless breathing of the joggers will be the only "noise" you will hear in this green and quiet corner of the city. A couple of kilometers away there is access to the highway to Lecce, Otranto or Leuca. 600 meters away is a supermarket. Less than 1 km away, there are bars, banks, and a post office.
