Stone house of 1875, fully renovated with respect to traditional Cycladic architecture featuring all modern amenities, high aesthetics and stunning views. It is ideal for relaxation, tranquility and connection with nature. Built in the heart of Naxos, it is an ideal choice for excursions to the beautiful beaches of the island and serves as a starting point for cycling, hiking, mountain running and, of course, for climbing to the top of the highest mountain of the Cyclades. The space The house is located in Filoti, a picturesque traditional settlement in the center of Naxos, 25 minutes from Chora and 25 minutes from many beautiful beaches. It is built on 2 levels that communicate with 15 external stairs. The lower level has 3 spacious rooms and a bathroom, and the upper level has a fully equipped kitchen, a living room and a huge terrace with panoramic views of the village, the plain and the imposing Mount Zas. Antique furniture and traditional objects, restored with care and patience, testify to the history of the house, which, combined with modern ceramic art, give it a special character. Lying on the chaise longue you can enjoy the stars, listening to the owl and the crickets and feeling the scents of the herbs brought by the gentle breeze. However, in 5 minutes you can be in the village square, under the plane tree, in the cafes and taverns, which are full of life. Guest access The traditional cobbled streets and stone steps of the village do not allow cars to circulate. Access to the house is via a narrow, steep and not so smooth, in some places, road that ends in a small parking lot, from which you reach the house in 2' by descending a path. Alternatively, there is the large municipal parking lot of the village with easy access, from which you will need to climb several steps (300m - 5'). The house is not recommended for young children due to the large openings in the terrace fence. People with mobility difficulties will not find it easy to approach the house and move around it, due to the stairs. Those who want to experience the authentic Naxos, away from the hustle and bustle, will enjoy wandering through the picturesque alleys of the village, with the whitewashed houses, the bougainvilleas, the vines and the basilicas, but also the contact with the hospitable locals. All this, combined with the aesthetics of the house and the magnificent view, will reward the visitor. Other things to note The house has 50cm thick stone walls that keep it cool during the summer months. Nevertheless, there is air conditioning in each room and in the kitchen for cooling or heating, if needed. All areas of the house have access to fast WiFi. Throughout the house, disinfection is carried out at the beginning of the season and whenever necessary with substances that are not harmful to guests. Cleaning is done with materials approved by the competent organizations and in accordance with Airbnb's enhanced cleaning protocol.
