Nestled in the woods overlooking Kootenay Lake in Balfour, BC is this tranquil, well equipped suite with dedicated entrance. Off the highway away from the noise. Hear the waves hit the shore from your window! Lake access is just a 3-5 minute walk. Balfour Golf Course and Ainsworth Hot Springs are nearby. Within 30 minutes of both Nelson and Kaslo, and just minutes from the ferry to the East Shore. Let "The Green Room" Lake View Suite be the backstage area for all of your Kootenay adventures! The space You will have the entire lower suite, with private entrance, of a top down duplex overlooking the lake. The suite has a queen bed in the bedroom and a queen sized sofa bed in the living room. There is a two-piece bathroom as well as a laundry room where the shower is located. The kitchen is spacious, fully equipped and has a large dining table that doubles as a workspace with a great lake view. The space is suited for a maximum of four adults. If you are booking for 5 adults, an extra person fee applies for the fifth adult. If you are booking for a family of 5 with 3 children, message me and I can remove the extra person fee. The property is enclosed on three sides by mature trees, providing privacy and a forest vibe, keeping the unit cool during the hottest summer months, while also having lots of natural light. Since taking possession of the property in late 2022 we have made slow but steady improvements to the unit as we can afford them. Our guest experience matters to us. Most recently in Feb. 2025 we put new tile flooring in the bathroom and laundry areas, and replaced the old laundry appliances with a brand new stackable unit. We also added a new accent chair, dining table and new wall art throughout. We strive to add amenities for guests based on feedback. If you find you are missing anything during your stay, please reach out! Guest access The door is equipped with a smart lock. Your code will be valid for the duration of your stay and you can come and go as you please. Please note that the driveway is graded/sloped. From Apr. 1 to Nov. 30, a guest parking spot is available up the driveway, but during the winter months (Dec. 1 - Mar. 31) guests must use street parking. There is always plenty of parking right in front of the house on the street, but the driveway is the only access method to the house. You will have to walk uphill up the driveway, and it can get slippery in winter if there is snow and ice. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions or accessibility concerns. Other things to note Note that the closest lake access at the end of Green Road (3-5 minute walk) is down a 4x4 only unpaved road which is mostly used for access by foot only. Due to the slope of the road, depending on your preference, you may prefer to drive (less than 5 minutes) to the flat lake access of Balfour Beach Regional Park.
