The Garden Suite at Heart's Ease Cottage

Heart's Ease Cottage is a 1944 cottage located just outside the quaint and historic town of Waxhaw, NC.The cottage looks like it came straight from the pages of a fairy tale, surrounded by lush and colorful gardens and crafted with whimsical and artful details both inside and out. The space The Garden Suite has private entrance with keypad access, an ultra comfy king size bed, kitchenette, private bath, plus use of a large deck with a covered outdoor dining area, 2 yoga pads and hammock house. Guests can wander the gardens and watch the birds, butterflies and other wildlife, roll out a yoga mat on one of yoga pads and practice yoga in the serene meditation garden or read and nap while hanging in the hammock. If you can tear yourself away from the peace and beauty of this dreamy little get-away, the quaint town of Waxhaw is 5 minutes away with shopping, dining and periodic special events. Please check with us to see what is going on while you are here and for dining reccommendations. The suite is only 30-45 minutes from a variety of sports and music venues as well as lots of shopping and other attractions like Carowinds and Charlotte Motor Speedway. If you want to join us for our Friday Night Sabbath Dinner we would be glad to have you as guests at our table (free of charge). Our Sabbath vegan meal begins at sundown on Friday. If you want to attend please let us know when you are booking so that we can plan for guests at the table. There will be supplies for a continental breakfast included in the price of the room: fruit, bagels and spreads, muffins, coffee and tea will be in the suite for your convenience or you can arrange with Elle for a lovely vegan breakfast prepared for you for an extra charge. If you want Elle to make your breakfast, please arrange that at booking. If you have any questions we haven't answered in the booking info please feel free to ask! Guest access Heart's Ease Cottage has a designated parking space for your vehicle. We offer no-key access to the Garden Suite with your personal code, with well-lit pathways to welcome you to our place. We offer wifi access to the internet, with Roku and Amazon Prime on the TV, with your login. There are only a few stairs to negotiate, which can be avoided if that's a real issue (we'll arrange passage through the house to accommodate as needed.) We are here to help you, make suggestions, and make sure you get the most out of your stay. For us, Friday evening through Saturday evening is our Sabbath, time of rest, but we are available for visiting and to meet your needs and requests. Guests wishing to join us for the Friday evening meal are welcome, no charge, with prior notice. We love having company around our table Friday nights! Elle is well known for her delicious vegan meals made from organic produce grown right here at the cottage. During your stay We are eager to welcome you and get to know you. If you see us out working in the yard or hanging out in the gardens we are glad to take time for a visit. If you want privacy or to be left alone, that's fine too. We aim to please! Guests have as much quiet and privacy as desired. A separate keypad entry allows guests to come and go at your own schedule. Other things to note As much as we love children and pets, Heart's Ease Cottage is unable to accommodate anyone under the age of 18 or pets. We have a cat name Skittles, who is very shy and will not seek out your attention or get underfoot and a kitten named Hobbes, who is new to our family. The cats are not permitted in the Garden Suite, but if you have severe cat allergies, they does have free run of the rest of the house and outdoor areas. There are 5 steps up to the Suite, but if stairs are an issue, other arrangements for entry can be arranged. Outdoor spaces are shared, including the hammock, yoga pads and the huge back deck. The covered sitting area outside the Garden Suite entry is for the private use of guests staying in the suite. it has the ability to be closed in with screen and or opaque curtain. Our life here at the cottage is centered on sustainable living, vegan homesteading and a love of outdoors. Our property is a Certified Wildlife Habitat. We have lots of birds, bees, butterflies, frogs, who visit here and are a welcome part of our environment. We try to provide a peaceful, welcoming place for all those who visit here. People from all backgrounds welcome. The Garden suite is well suited to those who are looking kosher or vegan accommodations.
