Gorran Churchtown is a quaint village complete with award winning pub listed in the Michelin guide, a shop/post office and parish church. Gorran Haven offers further shops, an award winning fish and chip shop and cafes. Originally laid out as two separate cottages dating back to the 1800s, Hillside Cottage has been combined and extensively extended and modernised. We have retained the character of the original properties with low beamed ceilings, period style sash windows, ledged and braced doors downstairs, original fireplace with cloam oven and a second fireplace with a wood burning stove. For those modern luxuries there is a fitted kitchen, en-suite bathroom, family shower room, gas central heating, broadband and wireless internet. More recently we have added a sun lounge, which opens onto a large slate patio, to enjoy the large, sunny, secluded rear garden. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire cottage and the gardens. The garage and some cupboards in the property are locked as they are for staff use only. Other things to note The super king bed can be split into twin beds on request at the time of booking. A travel cot is provided but please bring your own linen for it. Please note that the base (mattress) is very firm as recommended and supplied by the manufacturer. Please see The Lullaby Trust for advice on the use of travel cots. The rear garden has a number of slate steps; children should be supervised at all times. All bedrooms have black-out lined curtains. My usual changeover day is a Friday. For stays outside of the school holidays I am happy to accommodate short breaks Monday to Friday and 2 or 3 night breaks at weekends. Any booking that crosses either side of my changeover day may not be possible so will be available on request only.
