Mayberry Retreat

This unique place has a style all its own. Come enjoy our 2 bed (king and queen), one bath vacation unit, where you can slow down and enjoy what’s close by : wine trail, hiking the little Grand Canyon, Giant City and other Shawnee National forest sites; fishing or floating the many lakes; shopping local for antiques or visiting the university. Major cities nearby- St Louis, Cape Girardeau, and Paducah KY. No pets. No smoking in the unit. Trains run past and nearby. Maximum 4 people stay:) The space This tranquil duplex unit is in a safe, quiet neighborhood other than trains that run by and through Murphysboro. You will hear the whistle and the rumble on the tracks. Please come prepared if you are a light sleeper. Kroger, dollar tree, and Rural King are a couple miles away. Several blocks away is Farm Fresh, a small grocery store on Walnut. We have all sorts of local bars, restaurants and wineries here. Read and join us in journaling your experiences in the book on the table near the house manual! There’s a tv guide available on how to access many channels. WiFi code is located in several places inside. Wishing you smiles, laughter, and good vibes during your visit! If you stay longer than 30 days Illinois considers you a renter. Guest access This is a one story duplex that has a handicap accessible bathroom. Built in the 80’s for an older couple, the layout is well thought out when getting in and out of the unit. We still have to update the stove, but it works great! A keyless entry code will be provided right before you come visit Mayberry Retreat:) Other things to note We have permanent renters in the back unit. Please respect their space in the back. There is a private picnic table for your usage you can see right outside your kitchen window. You have access to it by walking through the carport around to the side yard. If you smoke, please use the Rocker or bench under the carport roof or the picnic table mentioned in the side yard. Thanks for your understanding! In addition, we do not have a pull out couch- sleeps 4 means bed usage only. Please do not move furniture or tv. Do not eat in the bedrooms- water only!
