The Pleasant Hill Farmhouse

The Farmhouse has been designed for the travelers who want to get out of the city and soak up a quiet country sunset. This darling home is nestled on the edge of a 60 acre cattle farm and offers all standard amenities. It is favorably located to many attractions in Central KY: Shaker Village, Asbury University, EW Brown power plant, Centre College, Keeneland Horse Track, LEX airport, and within 25 miles of 8 distilleries on the Bourbon Trail. The space The Farmhouse is an old home with a story. The original footprint of the home is thought to be 100 years old. The house as been added on to and renovated over the years, most recently in 2022. The Farmhouse is on the edge of a working cattle farm. Depending on the time of year, you may see the farmer putting hay out for the cows and/or the cattle grazing in the pasture nearby. There may be times the adjacent barn is in use and you see/hear tractors being moved around the barn lot. The farmer may need to pull through The Farmhouse yard to access the barn. You are welcome to wave and have your children watch the action. There are currently pregnant cows and cows with nursing calves on the farm. If you're watching you may see these sweet babies roaming the fields. Of course, this cannot be guaranteed because cows go where they wish, but it is still fun to be looking. **Though it is very exciting to see farm animals and they are so cute, DO NOT leave the fenced in yard. DO NOT walk out in the pasture to pet the cows. These are NOT pets, they are 1000 lb farm animals. Their sheer size and strength must be respected or it could result in bodily harm. We want you to enjoy looking from a safe distance.** Also, the local white tail deer are plentiful in this area, so keep an observant eye on the pastures. These sleek and swift animals generally pass through the fields in the dawn and dusk hours of the day. Children, young and old, love a few exciting moments of them statue-still before bounding off into the nearby woods. Guest access Guests have access to the entire home and the immediate surrounding fenced in yard. Guests do not have access to the adjacent barn, though the exterior of it makes for an awesome photo backdrop. Other things to note Please note that the upstairs loft has low vaulted ceilings. There are signs reminding guests to be mindful as bumping your head can be easy to do if not paying attention. You will certainly enjoy the quaint coziness only an old home can offer but, with its history you cannot eliminate the possibility of summer ants or a sneaky mouse. We have pest control maintain the property and have not had issues, but nonetheless, this is the reality of country living, so please make note.
