Great Lakes Naval Base (11 miles), Six Flags, Fox lake, and other Chicagoland attractions are a short drive away. A second-floor flat with a private entrance for guests, this expansive space features three bedrooms with laptop-friendly workspaces, an adorable sun-drenched kitchenette with a bistro table and chairs, a natural-spring water cooler with hot and cold water for morning coffee or tea, as well as a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, coffee mugs, water glasses, wine glasses, paper plates, napkins and utensils. Enjoy staying in the heart of the hustle and bustle of historic Grayslake. Leave your car parked as you take a stroll through the neighborhood or, if you arrive with a group, take advantage of free parking for up to five cars. Sample an array of seasonal and year-round local events, including Lake County's premiere Farmers Market, Art Fair, Bourbon Fest, Craft Beer Fest, and A Taste of Grayslake, as well as antique car shows, a hot air balloon festival, pond hockey tournament, multiple parades right out your front door and many more! Additional local points of interest include: Great Wolf Water Park, College of Lake County, Ravinia, Botanical Gardens, Genesee Theater, Volo Museum, Fox Lake and Lake Michigan charter boats. The flat is also less than an hour drive to Milwaukee's downtown and General Mitchell airport. You will be staying in the historic village area of Grayslake. This is a walkable Main Street USA vibe! Bike Share rental bikes are available a couple blocks from the Airbnb, to take out and explore the many bike paths, as well as 2 Metra Stations to take you to Chicago. I live in the flat below, which has its own private separate entrance. I am happy to offer my recommendations to local establishments, events and attractions. This is a walkable neighborhood. In the summer your can walk a half block to the lake with your inner-tube to float the afternoon away, or spend the day at Jones Island beach on Grayslake which includes, sand volleyball, kids play area, swimming area, BBQ, Kayak launch and fishing piers. Walk to the weekly farmers market, enjoy outdoor patios at the many local restaurants, grab a root beer float at Dogs and Suds drive in. In the Winter, bring your ice skates for groomed figure skating and ice hockey, bring your ice shanty for exceptional ice fishing, bring your cross country skies to ski Grayslake. Libations afterwards are plentiful at the local breweries, bars and restaurant establishments. Everything you need is out your front door waking distance to the Village, Lake and Metra Stations. We hire a professional cleaning crew who wear masks and gloves to clean our Airbnb after every guest stay. We are taking extra care to sanitize our Airbnb due to COVID-19.
