Insta: ElBajadero Overlooking the Pacific, El Bajadero is the ultimate vacation home. Each of 4 bdrs (2 king bds, 1 queen, 2 twins) has its own vibe & ensuite ba. - Top-level suite: w/its own kitchen, living room (w/sofa bed), & terrace w/outdoor shower. - Colibrí: w/lush courtyard w/private outdoor bathtub. - Paloma: main level acess. - Tulerito: opens to pool & outdoor bar. With a wrap-around deck, fire pit, massage deck, hammock pit, & concierge services, El Bajadero is pure magic. Nestled into a hill just off the coastline, El Bajadero is ideal for families or groups of friends who love to travel together to exotic places but who also want their creature comforts ... and their own space. Because of the house's cascading architecture, every bedroom is perched on the hillside such that they all have sweeping views of the ocean. The main living room has 12-ft ceilings and is surrounded by pocket doors that open to a wide, wrap-around porch and terrace that includes two seating areas, a fire pit, a BBQ, and outdoor eating for 10. The eating area on the terrace is covered by a pergola so you can enjoy the area no matter the intensity of the sun. The richly colored pool level has a refrigerator, a bar, the coolest outdoor shower you've ever seen, and separately zoned speakers ... everything you need to spend a day lounging. And, of course, the pool— withan infinity lap lane, an in-pool spa, and a Baja shelf with two built-in tanning beds. Finally, the pergola-covered massage deck is perfect for an afternoon nap in a hammock or an indulgent sunset massage. The standard amenities includes some not-so-standards extras like whole-house filtered water, a wine fridge, and an easy-to-use Sonos sound system and Ring security system. Guests have access to the entire house, but if they want, they divide their own access between the main house and the fully independent casita, which has its own entrance and kitchen. If you're there, that means we're not. But our house manager is. Leo will be on call to answer any questions and resolve any issues you may have. El Pescadero's Gavilán neighborhood is a quiet seaside community just 5 miles north of Los Cerritos surfing beach and 15 miles south of the culturally rich Todos Santos. With El Bajadero's fabulous pool and your pick of sunset perches you may never want to leave the house, but if you do you'll find farm-to-table food (Hierbabuena), hipster coffee (Baja Beans), homemade ice cream sandwiches (Mini Super Munchies), and an upscale seaside margarita (San Cristóbol) all within a 15-minute drive. And then there's Los Cerritos and Todos Santos just a stone's throw away. El Pescadero is super easy to get to from the Los Cabos airport. Basically, you cut over the the Pacific coastline and drive north The highway is brand spanking new and well maintained and so the ride is pleasant, especially if you like the austere beauty of desert landscape flanked by a mountain ridge and the ocean. It takes anywhere between 1 and 1.5 hours, depending on if you take the toll road and how fast you drive. If you're renting a car at the Airport, we highly recommend Cactus because their quoted prices are all-inclusive so there's no haggling at the rental desks (which there is at every other car rental agency). Their efficient and stress-free rental process starts your vacation off on the right foot. There are also shuttles that will take you to and from Pescadero to the airport, but you'll pay as much or more than renting a car and won't have the flexibility to see the surrounding area, which you'll really want to do. In addition to Todos Santos and Los Cerritos, there's the precious mining town El Trinufo; Baja's capital—La Paz; and many, many hikes, beaches, artisans, cantinas, and other hidden gems to check out. There’s so many activities in the area, especially for foodies, health and wellbeing travelers, art lovers, and outdoor adventure seekers. Our guest book will provide a long, detailed list of recommendations. Note: we give a % of all El Bajadero rental income to a local charity called Grupo Madre Teresa (GMT)—"a nondenominational, non-profit organization that provides a variety of essential services to some of the most vulnerable members of the rural Mexican society in El Pescadero." Additionally, for those travelers who like to directly engage with local charities when they travel, you can bring old clothes or children’s toys with you for donation, and our house managers will be happy to drop them off at GMC. Or drop them off yourself and personally witness the good work they do. It’s located 5 minutes away, just next to Baja Beans—a must-visit local coffee shop for coffee / morning pastry lovers.
