Just 5 miles southwest of Carbondale and on the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail, Woodland Cabins sits at the edge of Southern Illinois rolling hills and the Shawnee National Forest. With four luxury accommodations and sitting on 44 acres of seclusion where mature woods blend harmoniously with expansive open fields, Woodland Cabins guarantees an unparalleled retreat experience. The space Woodsong at Woodland Cabins: Located on the pond with spacious exterior decks and a large shaded yard area, Woodsong is our only one-bedroom layout offering privacy between the sleeping area and the living/kitchen area. Woodsong has a king size bed. Adjacent to the cabin lies a three-acre pond, inviting guests to enjoy fishing and leisurely strolls along the dam. Our wooded areas and fields are perfect for exploration and contemplative walks, where observing diverse bird species and wildlife becomes a cherished pastime. Regular guests include deer, wild turkey, red foxes, pileated woodpeckers, songbirds, and migrating waterfowl. For the fortunate observer, catching a glimpse of "Fraidy," the bobcat, adds an extra touch of wilderness charm! Our luxury accommodations are designated as "romantic retreats," providing an ideal sanctuary for couples, close family, or friends. Whether basking in the morning sun or bidding farewell to daylight, the serenity from your private deck, complete with its own hot tub, fosters an atmosphere of relaxation and romance. Let Woodland Cabins be your sanctuary for unwinding and creating enduring memories. Amenities: Each cabin is equipped with an outdoor hot tub, a gas log fireplace, flat-screen HD TVs featuring the basic DirecTV satellite package, a DVD player with a curated selection of movies, and an outdoor fire pit with supplied firewood. Towels, linens, hair dryers, and all the essentials for a comfortable stay are provided. Full kitchens, stocked with appliances, utensils, pots and pans, and a gas barbecue grill, ensure a home-away-from-home experience. Complimentary provisions include coffee, creamer, sugar, salt and pepper, paper towels, toilet paper, and trash bags. All cabins afford access to the serene lake. Prior to your arrival, you will receive: - A map of the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail, featuring our property. - Exclusive discounts for massages at local day spas. - A comprehensive guide to local dining and grocery options, highlighting our favorite locally owned and operated establishments, spanning casual to fine dining experiences. Other things to note Security Deposit Hold: After booking, a message will be sent asking for a security deposit hold of $150, which will be automatically reserved before the arrival date. If the rental property is returned undamaged beyond normal wear and tear, the full security deposit will be released within a few days. In the case of damages exceeding the security deposit, the guest agrees to pay the balance within business days of receiving notification. Arrival and Departure Times: Check-in is allowed any time after 3 p.m. on the reservation day. Early check-ins (between 1:30 pm and 3 pm) are available for a $30 fee. Self-check-in is facilitated with an electronic door code sent via email before arrival. Departure time is anytime before 11 a.m. Late departures (at 12:30 p.m.) are available for a $30 fee. Please message the host for an early arrival or late departure request. Subject to availability and must be purchased in advance. Occupancy: The cabins are meant for two guests maximum. Absolutely no parties or visitors are allowed. No Pets Policy: Pets are not allowed on the property without the expressed written permission of management. Any violation will result in removal without a refund. Allowing pets into the cabins incurs a discretionary deep cleaning fee of $250. No Smoking Policy: Any and all types of smoking (cigarettes, vaping, or cannabis) are prohibited inside the cabins. Violation leads to eviction without refund. A $250 deep cleaning fee will be charged for smoking inside. Hot Tubs: Hot tubs are prepared and tested before check-in. Guests must report issues within 2 hours of check-in. It is essential to cover hot tubs when they are not in use. Periodically, hot tubs may need to be fully drained and cleaned between guests, which may impact the water temperature at check-in. Proper swim attire is required, and adding foreign substances to the hot tub results in service charges. A minimum charge of $150–$300 applies for any foreign substance found upon check-out. Pets are strictly prohibited in hot tubs. On-Site Construction: Woodland Cabins is currently building four new cabins on our property. To ensure your safety, we request that you refrain from entering the construction zone. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience caused by the construction activities, including possible noise disruptions.
