Description
A comfy & quiet log cabin with everything you need to relax and unwind. Just 300m to the lake for fishing or easy kayak launching, a leisurely 2.3k walk into the town centre via the shared foot / bike path (enjoy the stunning lake views along the way), and if you're up for a swim, it's a 4k trip to the main swimming beach. The space The Log Cabin (40m2) consists of a large open space with fully equipped kitchenette, wood fire bakers oven, split system heating / air conditioner, washing machine, and various modern appliances for all your cooking needs (including Weber Baby Q, benchtop induction stove and benchtop oven, microwave, stove top coffee pot and bar fridge). It also features a very comfortable queen size bed, with linen, doona, pillows and bathroom towels provided. The Log Cabin features its own large private and fully fenced backyard with a sunny courtyard, covered verandah and grassy slope for the sole use of guests. There are filtered water views framed by the distant ranges and the vibe is peaceful and spacious, with lots of birds, the odd koala and kangaroos. Staying in the Log Cabin is like staying in a peaceful holiday house. If you prefer the hotel experience (maids, room service, close to restaurants, etc) then I recommend booking a hotel, there's one in the town centre. I've enjoyed living in Mallacoota and on this property for nearly 10 years. Many of those years were spent in the log cabin until I built my own small private mud brick music studio / accom just down the hill from the cabin a few years back. It's a large narrow block, 1500 square meters, so there is plenty of room. Guest access The front yard is a shared access space between the log cabin and my mudbrick studio, with private parking available for one guest vehicle (no trailers). The driveway gradient is 5 - 10% and it is unsealed and of modest width. Fortunately there is ample street parking, it's a no through road so we only get local traffic. From the front yard you walk down 5 stairs to access the cabin, so guests will need to be on the mildly agile side. The log cabin and associated fenced in pet friendly back yard are for private guests only. (See photos) The mud brick music studio and remaining property are not accessible to guests. (It is rumoured that a musical hermit resides in these lower realms and that when a gentle wind blows from the south east, if you listen ever so carefully, the faint sound of an enchanting Viola D'amore can be heard.) Other things to note - Pets are welcome. If you want to bring your pet please scroll down to the bottom and read the "Things to Know > House Rules > Additional Rules" section for more information. - My neighbours have two large well behaved dogs (they are friendly Dobermanns) Marla & Manu. There is a fence between our properties and they are well supervised by their owners. If you feel comfortable with dogs you are welcome to meet them although this is not essential. (I have a good relationship with them and often pat them over the fence). There is a 1.5m laneway buffer zone on my property between the neighbours yard and the Vista Log Cabin's private fenced yard.
