Inside, you'll find two cozy bedrooms and a kitchen/living room equipped with everything you need. Downtown Meran is just a 10-minute walk away, and it's only a 5-minute uphill walk to the village center of Obermais. Make yourselves comfortable and enjoy your stay with us! The space WHAT YOU GET – IN A NUTSHELL: Stylish south-facing apartment for a relaxed holiday in Merano! The apartment is located on the ground floor of a small condominium. Thanks to its southern exposure, the terrace gets sun all day and the interior is bright and welcoming. It features a kitchen-living room, two bedrooms with double beds, a hallway, a bathroom, and a sunny terrace overlooking the garden. All rooms have blackout blinds. A small private garage is included. The living area offers a well-equipped kitchenette, a dining table with 4 chairs, a sofa, an armchair, a rocking chair, and a TV. Both bedrooms have double beds with comfortable mattresses. Bed linen and fitted sheets are made of organic cotton. Towels are provided in generous amounts. For kids: games, books, coloring supplies. High chair and baby cot available on request and free of charge. Plenty of insider tips for your stay in Merano and South Tyrol. LATE CHECKOUT MERANO – THE IDEA Late Checkout Merano is about more than just sleeping in (though yes, you can stay in bed until nearly 2 pm). It’s an invitation to take your time – even on departure day. Our goal? That your stay feels as smooth and effortless as eating a bruschetta (minus the mess). We’ve tried to fix the things that annoyed us over decades of vacation rentals. We also paid attention to using sustainable, high-quality materials and avoided plastic wherever possible. THE TERRACE Here comes the sun! Merano gets 300 sunny days a year. And this terrace lets you enjoy every single one of them. It faces directly south and includes raised beds with herbs, salad greens, berries, and seasonal veggies – feel free to pick and use them when cooking! KIDS ARE WELCOME Travelling with kids? No problem – we’ve got books, crayons, and games. Right across the street you’ll also find a clean, welcoming park with a playground under big chestnut trees. Need a high chair, buggy, or crib? Just let us know. KITCHEN Late Checkout Merano features a fully equipped kitchen – because we know the struggle of missing utensils. Here, you’ll find everything you need for culinary creativity, from Paccheri alla Norma to lasagna or risotto. Plenty of (real) wine glasses, sharp knives, and a proper cheese grater are all included. And dishes and cutlery aren’t limited to the number of guests – so no waiting for the dishwasher to run before round two of breakfast. Appliances include an oven, induction hob, toaster, fridge with freezer, and a dishwasher. COFFEE Coffee lovers, rejoice! You’ll find a Moccamaster for drip coffee, a French press, a Hario scale, and of course a Bialetti for stovetop espresso – all ready and waiting. EAT, SHOP, SEE, MOVE Saturday morning runs, scenic hikes, activities with kids, and farmers’ markets that even locals visit? We’ve got you covered. Just let us know what brings you to Merano and we’ll help you make the most of it. Looking for the best local ingredients to cook with? Or souvenirs that aren’t fridge magnets, Sissi posters, or souvenir cutting boards with burned-in sayings? We’ll happily share our insider tips and favorite spots. ABOUT US After moving from Berlin to Merano a few years ago, we lived in eight different apartments across every district (not planned, by the way). We won’t claim to know the city better than the locals, but we definitely fell for this particular neighborhood – where Untermais meets Obermais. That’s where you’ll find your charming apartment – in one of Merano’s most liveable corners. IMPORTANT NOTES FOR LATE CHECKOUT MERANO (please read!) Unfortunately, the apartment is not barrier-free. There are a few steps to navigate. Please make sure this isn’t an issue for you. The apartment is in a small residential building and not suitable for loud parties or party people. Thanks for being respectful of our neighbors. It’s not a cabin in the woods – it’s a home in a Northern Italian town. That means you may occasionally see or hear other humans. We love spontaneity (and surprise visits from lovely people), but Italian law requires us to register all guests. Please let us know in advance who will be staying, as we can’t make exceptions. Speaking of laws: a local tourist tax of €2.20 per person per night (ages 14+) must be paid in cash at check-in. No smoking indoors – thank you for your understanding! As much as we love animals, we unfortunately can’t accommodate pets in the apartment. Guest access You can conveniently park your car in the private garage directly at the house. Please note that the garage door is on the smaller side and only suitable for standard-sized cars – unfortunately, not for SUVs or vans. Your car will fit if it's no taller than 195 cm and no wider than 210 cm. (Folding the side mirrors can help if the width is only slightly above that.) That said, there are also several free parking spots available in the side streets near the apartment – especially Anne-Frank-Straße and Parkgasse. Just make sure to check the temporary no-parking signs. If you're arriving by train, there's a direct bus connection that brings you right to our doorstep. Bus number 4 runs from Merano main station to Trauttmansdorff and stops at Maiser Park / Parco di Maia. The Merano 2000 ski and hiking area is also easily accessible by bus – or just a 5-minute drive by car to the lower cable car station. Other things to note Just a quick note: Construction work is currently taking place on a neighboring property – on weekdays and during the day only (approx. 7:30 am to 6:00 pm), usually when most guests are out exploring anyway. Our apartment, including the terrace, remains fully accessible and usable at all times, but occasional construction noise may occur. The local tourist tax for Merano is €2.20 per person per day and must be paid in cash at check-in. Children under 14 are exempt. Registration Details IT021051B4VV38PU63
