This sweet country home will be your new favorite place to stay. Complete with loads of fun details that make life and vacation worthwhile, you'll love the slow-down and relax feel of this cozy house just minutes from beautiful Watauga Lake and nestled in the rolling Appalachian Mountains of Cherokee National Forest. Relax in the hot tub, play some board games, find a good book, or settle in for movie night with popcorn and an amazing selection of hundreds of classic & popular movies. The space We have filled this home with tons of sweet family-friendly details. It is a wonderful place to slow-down and relax whether you're traveling alone or with friends and family. The hot tub is a favorite! The first bedroom has a queen bed, dedicated desk workspace, and a TV with a great movie collection in the console table. The second bedroom has a twin over full bunk, and a chaise lounge that reclines to a bed. There is a sleeper sofa as well in the family room. We are a bit flexible on the number of persons staying at the home, please speak with us if you have more than 7 guests. Children's play area in the front room along with a lovely coffee/tea bar. Adult coloring books and colored pencils provided. A nice selection of classic and popular literature is provided in various locations throughout the home. Wonderful and interesting cookbooks to browse in the kitchen as well! The hosts are book-lovers, so we hope you will enjoy relaxing into one of the many books during your stay. Several fun games are available as well, including of course some decks of cards along with other board games and wooden games. We also have a canoe and two paddle boards available for rent if you want to head to nearby Watauga Lake! Other things to note I don't care that Google maps says 321 is closed. 321 is not closed, contact me if you need help with directions. Cell phone coverage is spotty in our area, so please keep vital information with you before arrival, especially check in procedures. Our wifi connection is now running and has been upgraded after being out for nearly six months from the hurricane. Mere minutes from beautiful Watauga Lake including Sugar Hollow Retreat and Appalachian Trail access points. 30 minutes from Boone, NC, and just a little bit more from Blowing Rock, Tweetsie Railroad, Appalachian Ski Valley, Sugar Mountain. 45 min from Bristol Motor Speedway, (TRI) Tri Cities Airport, Johnson City, Mountain City. Our area is quite rural (and beautiful!), but you don't have to leave it to enjoy authentic Italian country cuisine at La Cucina, Watauga Lake Winery (just minutes away and also serving food!), or one of the general stores or country restaurants in the area. For bigger groceries and stores, we recommend going into Boone, NC or Elizabethton, TN for your errands. We have an Old Town canoe (with optional anti-tip attachments) and two Retrospec yoga paddleboards available for guests to rent. If you need local recommendations your hosts are happy to help. Great hikes abound in the area. We invite you to come stay and slow down, and we have equipped the house for such a visit. Instead of netflix you will find a plethora of wonderful movies, rather old-school style, which we think you will enjoy immensely. There is even a great collection of kung fu movies, among hundreds of other classic and popular films. While we do have wifi at the property, we encourage you to take a break from the hustle bustle, put down your cell phone and just take in the wonder and beauty of nature and the slower pace of life in our neck of the woods.
