Lovers of Tilff and its region, we wanted to protect the regional heritage by inviting you to discover "L'Écluse Simon", a unique place built by the architect Georges Hobé and with which we fell in love. While the Ecluse Simon has been completely renovated to offer all modern comforts, no structural transformation has been carried out in this house registered with the Walloon Regional Heritage. The space Built in 1904 by the architect Georges Hobé, the Ecluse Simon is located on a 2200 square meter lot, the only one in Tilff offering direct access to the Ourthe River through the garden and without going through the ravel. The Ecluse benefits from a unique setting: it is surrounded by the Sainte-Anne Rock, the Notre Dame de Brialmont Abbey and the Ourthe on one side and the Crêtes d'Esneux and its woods on the other. A rare charm offering a magnificent compromise to all nature lovers wishing to keep the comfort of proximity to shops and gourmet restaurants. Taken over by the Walloon Regional Heritage, it is one of the last vestiges of the old Ourthe Canal, initiated in the 19th century to facilitate trade between the Meuse and Moselle basins Located in the beautiful small town of Tilff, the Ecluse Simon also borders a group of woods called "Les Crêtes d'Esneux", directly accessible on foot from the house. In the heart of the Blue Ardennes, you are also a few minutes' drive from towns such as Stoumont, La Roche en Ardennes, Durbuy, Baraque de Fraiture... THE HOUSE: On the ground floor: • A dining room • A living room with TV and open fireplace • A fully equipped kitchen. • A shower room • A hall • A toilet area On the 1st floor: • A large bedroom with: o A double bed 160 x 200 cm o A "day bed" also called a "sofa bed" used as a reading corner or can be converted into a single bed, also extendable into a double bed. • An intermediate bedroom with a double bunk bed (2 x 160 cm x 200 cm) • A small bedroom with a double bed 160 x 200 cm • A bathroom with bathtub and toilet. On the middle floor, a slope offers a very nice reading corner. In the cellar: - a cellar is converted into a games room and has a foosball table and darts. - another cellar is equipped with a washing machine, a dryer and a storage space for all the other games and toys at your disposal (soccer balls, volleyball game, children's games...) THE GARDEN: The large garden has: - a petanque court. - a wood or charcoal Barbecook Nestor barbecue. - a hammock - 2 large dining tables. - garden seats and deckchairs The entire garden is equipped with well-designed lighting, including the pétanque court. WELLNESS AREA: L'Ecluse Simon also has a Sauna (4 people) and a Nordic Bath (6 people), both of which are wood-heated. Very ecological and functional, the Sauna and Nordic Bath are open access and open year-round: - All operating instructions will be available upon arrival. - The necessary wood will be available and freely accessible. - To ensure controlled use by our visitors, the wood level is checked before and after your departure. - A contribution to the costs of using the Wellness equipment per use per equipment will be requested once there. (payment by bank transfer or cash) MISCELLANEOUS EQUIPMENT At your disposal in the cellar: • A crib, its mattress, and all the crib sheets. • An ironing board and iron. • A small toolbox • A first aid kit. • Outdoor games including: - Pétanque balls and jacks - Badminton - Dart board - Soccer goal and ball - Volleyball - American Football Guest access Guests have access to the entire property and its garden. Other things to note MUSIC The house is equipped with a SONOS system available via Wi-Fi. The house also has a JBL Party Box and microphone: ideal for practicing karaoke. To ensure the peace and quiet of the neighborhood, if music is allowed, the sound volume must obviously remain acceptable and respect our neighborhood. Especially outdoors but also inside the house, we thank you for paying special attention to this point. PETANQUE COURT In order to highlight the remains of the lock, we built a petanque court there. In the evening, you can also play there thanks to the LED lights that have been installed. KAYAK "L'Ecluse Simon" and XtremeBelgium provide you with 1 inflatable kayak for 2 people (Aquaglide brand) available upon request. Ideal for discovering the area or the region along the water! BICYCLES "L'Ecluse Simon" also provides you with bicycles to freely enjoy the area: • 10 adult bikes, 1 equipped with a baby seat • 1 children's bike < 150 cm • 1 children's bike between 110 and 150 cm For your safety, the following are also available on site: • Helmets • Front/rear lights • Padlocks • Bicycle pumps and accessories; Please note that the bikes available are second-hand bikes. They are ideal for recreational use. We try to keep them as functional as possible to allow our visitors to discover the surroundings. We are sometimes forced to send the bikes for maintenance or repair. Also, if you want to ensure the availability of the bikes and their number available, we invite you to contact us on this point a few days before your arrival, so that we can organize ourselves as best as possible and accordingly. For daily and more intensive than "recreational" use, we invite you to bring your own equipment.
