The Andelys is rich in history, Ste Clotilde De Burgondie was the wife of Clovis (6th century). Queen Clotilde built one of her first abbeys in Les Andelys, on the current location of the collegiate church Notre-Dame des Andelys (13th century), which sits at the foot of the accommodation. Also legend says that it would have transformed water into wine at La Fontaine which bears his name, which is a 3-minute walk from the property. Come and discover on site, a part of the history of France via Clovis and Queen Clotilde, from Charles III called the simple and Rollon to the creation of Normandy with the treaty of Saint Clair-sur-Epte (911), up to Guillaume the Conqueror and Richard Coeur de Lion who built the Château Gaillard in just 1 year. Which made her say, “Look how beautiful she is, my one-year-old daughter.” I don't tell you more, and let you discover the city of Les Andelys, with the comfort of our typical Normandy cottage.
