Enjoy beautiful sunsets over Lake Michigan in this cozy cottage centrally located between Torch Lake & downtown Charlevoix. With over five acres of private rolling countryside, your stay will be filled with serene mornings drinking coffee on the porch and a crackling bonfire to warm you on starry summer nights. With many quiet beaches in close proximity you’ll spend your days cooling off in the lakes with loved ones..making those up north memories that will last a lifetime! The space Welcome! As you pull off the dirt road onto the tree lined drive you’ll find a fully fenced in five acres of rural Charlevoix countryside. This private stretch of land has the perfect balance of open meadows filled with wildflowers and beautiful old shade trees. On most days in the summer months, a cool breeze gently rolls across this sunny hillside property as Lake Michigan is just a mile down the dirt road. Perched on the hillside is the three bedroom cottage with a large wrap around deck that overlooks the large property and Lake Michigan in the distance. On the interior of the cottage you’ll find two levels, an open first floor living area highlighted by a cozy stone fireplace and large western facing windows. The living area nicely transitions into an open dining room with a large table perfect for a farm fresh dinner or late night board game. The adjacent kitchen opens directly onto the back deck for easy access to the outdoor grill and sunset views. The kitchen is fully equipped with a double door refrigerator, four burner oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, spice cabinet and the necessary utensils to cook a proper meal. A small hallway on the first floor will bring guests to the full first floor bathroom and guest room with queen sized bunk bed and crib, perfect for the young family. On the northern most side of the first floor is the master bedroom with a king sized bed and connecting bathroom/closet. More large western facing windows bring guests another beautiful view of the lake in the distance and plenty of natural light to fill their relaxing summer days. On the lower level of the house is the cozy family room. With plenty of seating including a crate & barrel lounge couch, this room is perfectly situated for family movie night. A large open area transitions guests to the third and final bedroom/bath. In the open area, guests will find a small seating area with a queen-sized futon for extra sleeping space, a full washer/dryer, as well as a full desk for dedicated work. The lower level bedroom includes a queen sized bed and two large closets so guests can truly unpack and settle in, with the third full bathroom door just a few feet away. With wonderful amenities indoors and the beauty of northern michigan at the doorstep, this cottage is the perfect up north getaway for you and your loved ones! Guest access Guests will have full access to the outside of the property except for the large blue pull barn, which will be locked. On the interior, guests will have full access to the entire house except for two locked storage closets and a small locked pantry, all located on the lower level of the home. Other things to note ◇ Cottage Interior/Patio & Deck ◇ Sleeping arrangements include: -Primary room w/ King Bed -Guest room w/ Queen Bed and Crib (2025 guests please note. This room will be converted to a queen over queen bunk bed. The room will still have a crib!) -Guest room w/ Queen Bed -Queen-sized Futon (sofa bed) with bedding provided. The cottage is well equipped with many additional items to make your stay fantastic including: ▪︎ beach chairs, umbrella & towels ▪︎ many books, board games and puzzles ▪︎ extra blankets ▪︎ propane grill ▪︎ deck/patio seating including two sets of adirondack chairs, two rocking chairs, and a Lifetime picnic table with umbrella. ▪︎ baby friendly items: high chair, full crib w/ breathable Newton mattress & changing table, outlet covers, cabinet locks, baby bath seat & baby gate for stairway. Household/Toiletry items provided: All guests will receive two rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, two rolls of paper towels, three dishwasher pods, kitchen towels, bath towels & makeup wipes. In addition, the bathrooms provide hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Other item needs or re-fills will be the responsibility of the guests. ◇ Exterior ◇ Roughly 4 acres of this property are fully fenced in and the driveway is gated with a simple latch for entrance. There is a small pond on the western corner of the property, it is not a swimming pond, but draws wonderful wildlife including many species of migratory birds, turtles, frogs, deer and more. There are many fruit trees on the property as this area of northern michigan is well suited for growing fruit, including apricot, apple and pear. There is a stone bonfire pit on the exterior of the house with adirondack chairs, a standalone hammock, and a wooden picnic table. Firewood not provided by host. From May-October, the owners of the cottage have a lawn mowing service that comes every other week, normally on Fridays. Mowers will be on the property for roughly 2 hours and are aware that the home is a vacation rental.
