The space ABOUT THE APARTMENT: Our Forest Apartment is located at the very top of Kengbari Retreat and provides a splendid view of the retreat and the surrounding hills balcony. It is very spacious at 980 sq feet (91 sq metres) and is perfect for a relaxing getaway. Within this expanse, the apartment contains the following spaces: a luxurious bathroom, an open plan kitchen-living-dining space, a large balcony, a separate bedroom featuring a double bed and a secluded single bed nook and a snug study corner with a verdant view. It is the perfect blend of comfort, functionality and practical luxury. The well-equipped kitchen facilitates effortless dining with a convenient fridge and microwave. We allow induction cooking for guests staying for two weeks or longer. There is a separate dining space, complemented by a snug study corner and a welcoming living area. The social area is enhanced by the extra daylight through a clerestory window. The bathroom is adorned with Himalayan cedar timber and features a bathtub. The bedroom is spacious and elegantly designed in hardwood. For groups of four visitors or more, the Forest Apartment is just next to the Hill Side Room @ Kengbari (a separate listing on Airbnb) so larger groups can spend even more after hours quality time together. ABOUT KENGBARI RETREAT: Our visitors have described the retreat as a restful place that immediately brings calm and where one can connect with nature in tranquility. LANDSCAPE: In our landscape design we have focused on native species, and that too mostly fruits and vegetables. We have veggie patches and herb gardens, a bee hive or two, many coffee plants and some exotic citruses and lemons. We love lemons! While we are not strict permaculturists, we have tried to adhere to its principles during our plantings. SWIMMING POOL: We have a large 50 feet by 17 feet pool where you can lounge, laze or have a good lap session. FOOD: We have an airy restaurant with a modern kitchen and a traditional hearth where we cook some of the best organic food that Sikkim has to offer. We provide room service. WORK FROM NATURE: For those looking to work remotely, we offer you a chance to work from nature. Your accommodation has broadband wi-fi and a dedicated study space with a view for days. EXTRA PERSON: Please note that while the apartment can accommodate three or more people, the listed price is for two people. Any above that number will be charged extra person fees. BREAKFAST: Breakfast is not included in the listing price. However, breakfast is available at our restaurant for Rs 400 per person. No breakfast charges for anyone under Age 6. Other things to note HOW TO GET HERE: Kengbari Retreat is accessed by a private road from the Gangtok-Rumtek road. If you’re arriving by taxi, it is likely that your driver would know our place. If not, then please have them speak to us and we can guide them. If you are self-driving then, just after Ranipool, take a left from the Mayfair junction towards Adampool. We are located a short distance away, 0.6 kms (600 metres) from the junction. There are signboards to guide you. It’s a curvy road so drive slowly from the junction or you might miss it!
