Description

***PLEASE NOTE: available for 1 + week blocks only over school holidays *** If you value and treasure nature, the environment and sustainability, this place is for you! Welcome to my humble home where you're invited to relax away from it all in a quiet street with quiet neighbours and birds that wake you up in the morning alongside the soft rumble of the ocean in the near distance. I hope you enjoy this complete R and R space just as I do living here. The space Set amongst native trees and plants and a substantial garden and setback from the street sits my humble, new one bedroom home. The lounge area has two comfy chairs and the nook has a daybed for reading and relaxing after the beach! There’s plenty of books and games to keep you occupied if the weather changes. Bedroom has a comfy bed you won’t want to leave! And a little hanging space and drawers for your belongings. Rustic kitchen has all you need. A brand new Airfryer oven I’m still getting the hang of, ceramic stove top, slow cooker and various cooking pots and utensils. There will be some condiments you’re welcome to use. Bathroom has a lovely shower over the bath. No baths though please as I am on rainwater and it’s scarce at the moment. Washing machine, please only use 15 minute cycles to save water. Powder provided. The deck is probably my favourite place to sit and listen The birds and ocean. Note: Make sure to bring a good repellent. We’ve had a rise in sandflies and mozzies this spring/summer. Also no parties and no extra guests. This is a peaceful street with lovely neighbours and we like to keep it that way, thank you. Please don’t hesitate to ring or message me if you need anything. I work in inverloch and stay nearby while I have guests. Enjoy!!! Guest access Full access. The rear garden is a work in progress. But you’ll probably only want to use the front as it’s so lovely. Other things to note Water useage: Please respect that we are on rainwater in VB which means mindful use at all times ie: 3 minute showers, not leaving water running when brushing teeth and dish washing. This is one thing that is incredibly important as it costs a bomb to fill a tank. Costs can rise if tank water is misused. Thankyou so much. Please byo bed linen. I provide pillows and a lovely Australian wool doona. With extra blankets for cooler nights. The bed is queen size. There is no wifi, tv, oven (there is a brand new Airfryer oven though) or dishwasher. I use hotspot on my phone and it works perfectly. Just add $10 extra data and you should be fine. Reception can be sketchy at busy times regardless. 5% of your payments will go towards local community projects and groups so that you can feel good when you’re booking that you’re contributing to this beautiful area and its people Drinking water: I am on pure rain water here but is not filtered into the house. I have a ten stage water filter in the kitchen for drinking water. Simply fill up the top part when water is low. I use a mixing bowl as it’s quite big! Some things are listed “personal items please do not use”, because I live here I simply can’t take everything in and out when guests stay. So I ask that you respect that. Thankyou. Insects: you are now in their environment along with all the other wildlife here. It’s a thing we live with in VB! To ensure ants don’t become an instant problem in the kitchen keep all benches clean of crumbs and especially sugary things! So far i haven’t had a huge issue. The only spiders I seem to have are daddy long legs. They eat mozzies, so I leave them alone. Keep the screen doors closed to keep out mozzies and flies. Animals: My property is fence free. This allows native wildlife a corridor in a shrinking natural environment. You may spot a kangaroo in the yard, please keep your distance and watch them with wonder. There are plenty of wombats too! I haven’t spotted one in my garden but they leave their poo around to mark territory, it’s harmless and all grass. Snakes, again I haven’t spotted one here but they do live everywhere here so be vigilant on those warm days. Generally if you keep your distance and leave them alone they will just slither away. It is a criminal offence to deliberately kill or injure any native wildlife. Thanks!
