The space Experience the Australian countryside in a converted shearing shed with all modern comforts just 45 minutes from Adelaide set in a secluded spot in the McLaren Vale wine region on a 90-acre property. We are local wine makers who live across an orchard paddock 200 meters away. Enter your accommodation through the traditional shearing shed to arrive at a cosy and romantic dwelling that has fantastic vineyard views and stylish interiors. Comfortable queen size bed, great shower and a fully equipped kitchen, reverse cycle air conditioning, wi-fi and a deck that overlooks a small winter creek. Explore the surrounding cellar doors, vineyards, local beaches and great restaurants. This is a wonderful place to just relax and take walks around the property, help yourself to produce from the orchard, chook pen and vegetable garden (when in season). Curl up with a good book by the wood fire in winter and eat on the spacious deck in summer. The shearing shed space can also be used for artist retreats. The Shearing Shed has been renovated to a high standard, and although rustic in appearance, it has a beautiful interior, with all of the modern conveniences that you would expect from a boutique country escape. The period galvanised shed has an inviting South East facing deck where you can sit, relax and enjoy the fresh country air. It is the perfect setting to cook a BBQ and dine together, either with friends or alone, while enjoying some of the region's wine. Weather permitting in wintertime, there is a camp-fire in the paddock to enjoy outdoor cooking. If it is too cold outside then why not sit indoors by the combustion wood fired stove enjoying the view from large picture windows? The Shearing Shed is a great place to stay if you love nature, birds and beautiful vistas or if you are attending events in the area. Electric oven and 3 Electric top burner. Kettle and Toaster A supply of tea and ground coffee is provided. The lounge area has a comfortable 2.5 seater sofa, a combustion fire and split system for heating and cooling. In winter, wood will be provided for the first two days of your stay; afterwards you are welcome to collect wood from around the property. The modern bathroom has a generous shower and features the original pressed metal ceiling from the property. Towels and toiletries are supplied. We are often around to welcome you and tell you about the region. Books and board games for guests wishing to absorb the country ambience will be provided. Internet access Locks on all doors and windows. Guest access Once you arrive and settle in, you are welcome to walk freely around the property. Other things to note The Shearing Shed is on a working vineyard so there are sometimes tractors working nearby beyond the fence.
